📢 HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR GPA (GRADE POINT AVERAGE) 🧮🤓 First Semester = GPA: In your first semester, you'll be calculating your GPA because it's your first set of exams. 💯 After First Semester = CGPA: From your second semester onwards, you'll calculate your CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average). 🔄 GPA Calculation Breakdown: Grades & Points: 70 - 100 = A (4 points) ✨ 69 - 60 = B (3 points) 😊 59 - 50 = C (2 points) 🙂 49 - 45 = D (1 point) 😔 < 45 = 0 points 🙁 Example: Let's say you scored 55 in a 3-unit course. This falls within the 'C' range (2 points). Since it's a 3-unit course, your total points for that course would be 2 points × 3 units = 6 points. 🧮 Final GPA Calculation: Add up the points from ALL your courses and divide by the total number of units for ALL your courses. For instance, if you have 60 points and 22 total units, your GPA would be 60 / 22 = 2.73 (Second Class Lower). ➗ CGPA Calculation: To calculate your CGPA, add up your total points from ALL semesters and divide by the total number of units from ALL semesters. Example: Semester 1: 60 points, 22 units Semester 2: 85 points, 26 units CGPA = (60 + 85) / (22 + 26) = 3.02 (Second Class Upper) 🙌🏽 Degree Classification: 3.5 - 4.0 = First Class Honours 🥳 3.0 - 3.49 = Second Class Upper Division 😊 2.0 - 2.99 = Second Class Lower Division 🙂 1.0 - 1.99 = Third Class Honours 😔 < 1.0 = Withdrawal from University 🙁 Important Note: Your CGPA is rounded to two decimal places (e.g., 2.758463 becomes 2.76, and 2.753789 becomes 2.75).

These are the people you'll likely click with on a deeper level. 3. Building Trust: Authenticity builds trust. When you're honest and transparent, others feel safe opening up to you, leading to stronger, more supportive relationships. 4. Reduced Stress and Anxiety: Trying to be someone you're not is exhausting. Being authentic allows you to relax and be yourself, leading to less stress and greater well-being. 5. Personal Growth: Embracing your true self and expressing your unique personality fosters personal growth and self-acceptance. Remember, it's okay to be a little weird, a little quirky, or a little different. Those are the things that make you special and interesting. Don't be afraid to show your true colors – the right people will appreciate you for them.

Your university years are more than attending classes, reading books, passing exams and even getting that stellar CGPA. The friends you make and the people you meet and relate to also play a significant role in shaping these years and your future. Let's talk about how friends can impact your university experience. Why Invest in Relationships? 1. Personal Well-Being: Friendships provide a sense of belonging, support during tough times, and create a community that makes your university experience richer and more enjoyable. They're your stress-relief crew, adventure buddies, and confidants. 2. Academic Success: Study groups, exchanging notes, getting advice on difficult courses – these are just a few ways that friends can directly boost your grades and learning. They can also introduce you to research opportunities, internships, and mentors. 3. Networking and Future Opportunities: The people you meet at university can become lifelong friends, colleagues, or even business partners. Building a strong network now opens doors to jobs, collaborations, and professional support later in life. 4. Personal Growth: Interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives challenges your assumptions, broadens your horizons, and helps you grow as an individual. 5. Life Skills: Building relationships teaches valuable skills like communication, conflict resolution, empathy, and teamwork – all essential for success in any career or personal endeavor. So, as you navigate this exciting new chapter, remember that relationships are an investment in your happiness, well-being, and future success. Security tips suggested by Mr Victor Fadeyibi, the Chief Security Officer 󰜺 Confirm if any group you intend joining on campus is registered with the Student Affairs. 󰜺 Do not allow squatters in the room allocated to you. 󰜺 Protests or riots against constituted authorities of the school are not allowed. 󰜺 Inform necessary persons (like the hall wardens) about any journey you intend embarking on. "Abeg I dey come" is not an address🌚. 󰜺 Do not purchase second-hand gadgets ad you could be arrested for armed robbery. The said gadget might have been gotten from victims at gun point who probably lost their lives in the process. 󰜺 Close the windows of your room when necessary so as to minimize stealing of personal gadgets. 󰜺 Switch off all electrical sockets when leaving your room. 󰜺 Always take a valid means of identification with you wherever you go. 󰜺 You don't have to attend every social party. Ask some questions like "who is organizing the party?", "what's the purpose of the party?". 󰜺 Do not accept free ride from unknown persons󰰇. 󰜺Familiarize yourself with the UI student handbook.IGNORANCE IS NEVER AN EXCUSE! 󰜺 Do not hang around Campus after the semester exams, Go home to your parents! 󰜺 Know relevant telephone numbers offhand e.g that of your hall warden, fire station, HOD, Security officer and parents. 󰜺 Avoid night movements as much as you can, if you must move at night, take a valid means of identification, else you'll be treated like a mere criminal 🌝when caught. 󰜺Backup important documents on your device, so as not to lose all in case of theft. 󰜺 Do not argue about religion! , as this could lead to argument or disagreement. 󰜺Avoid all acts of misconduct that can land you in the Students Disciplinary Committee. THE FEAR OF SDC IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM 󰰇. 󰜺Avoid usage of unapproved electrical appliances like electrical cooker, air conditioner etc. 󰜺 Do not overload electrical sockets in the hostels. 󰜺Do not loose focus or forget the major reason why you are in school. 󰜺The charge room is available 24/7, complaints can be lodged there.
