The differential diagnosis is broad but at least we should be familiar with some causes
Although there might be overlap with other diseases according to the comorbid state of the patient, our DDX should be:
1-Coeliac disease (dermatitis herpeteformis)
2-IBD (erythema nodusum and pyoderma gangrenosum)
3-Addison's disease( usually present as GI complaints and hyperpigmentation)
4-Viral infections in pediatrics( measles, roseola)
5-Acrodermatitis enteropathica in children (zinc deficiency)
6-Pellagra (vitamin B3 deficiency with its famous 3Ds)
7-Carcinoid syndrome
8-Henoch-schonlein purpura in children

4- patient has chronic hepatitis then started to develop petechial rash, episodes of epitaxis and prolonged bleeding from any simple scratch= secondary immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP)
5- patient with long standing hepatitis C started to notice multiple lumps in his neck and axilla= lymphoma secondary to hepatitis C
