👍 Zcash Funding Proposal
Sean Bowe, Zcash co-founder, has proposed ending automatic funding for Zcash Community Grants. Under a draft ZIP, 8% of newly issued ZEC would instead go to the Network Sustainability Mechanism until the current funding stream expires.
ZCG holds 91,453 ZEC and $8.8 million. Bowe says that should cover years of spending. The draft has no activation date and would require a network rule change, so funding continues for now.

👍 Anthropic Files for an IPO
Anthropic has submitted a preliminary S-1 registration statement to the SEC. The company behind Claude plans to list on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT. Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and 20 other banks are leading the offering. Its size and price have not yet been disclosed.
In the first half of 2026, revenue climbed to $16.29 billion, up from $1.16 billion a year earlier. The company reported a net loss of $80.75 billion, compared with $12.97 billion. Of that loss, $72.4 billion came from revaluing convertible loans and derivatives.

💰 Galaxy: Bitcoin’s bear market ended in June
BTC has closed above its 50-week moving average for five straight weeks—the first time since spending 44 consecutive weeks below it. The average currently sits at $76,540.
Key findings from the report:
➡️ This cycle’s decline was around 53%, compared with 77–93% in previous cycles.
➡️ In 2026, long-dormant coins—untouched for more than five years—are moving at a rate of 34,000 BTC per month, down from 67,000 in 2024.
Galaxy says the bear market ended in June. Its view would be invalidated if BTC closes a week below the moving average and fails to reclaim it within a month.

🔸 BNB Chain Prepares New Layer 1
BNB Chain is developing a new Layer 1 blockchain that won’t have its own token. The network, currently known as “New L1,” is designed to produce blocks every 200 ms, with pre-confirmations in around 20 ms. It will run alongside BSC and connect to it via an official bridge.
The project is being tested internally with several validators. A public testnet is expected by the end of 2026, followed by a mainnet launch in early 2027. Fees, staking, and governance will continue to use BNB.
CZ summed it up: “Several networks, one coin.”
