In assessment of Mitral stenosis : 1- degree of stenosis 2- mobility of valve 3- pulmonary Hypertension 4- presence of other lesions , Dominance

Now i will discuss some points about echo ... Echo also asses severity of Mitral stenosis, any associated lesion , There's echocardigraphic mitral morphology score : depends on 1- leaflet rigidity 2- leaflet thinking 3- valvular Calcification 4- subvavular disease Also Dopler show 1- pressure gradient across Mitral valve 2- pulmonary artery pressure ,MVA

👨‍⚕Q. What are the echocardiogram findings in mitral stenosis? 🧑‍⚕ A. As follows: ✓ Thick mitral valve leaflet (with restricted opening), diastolic doming of anterior mitral leaflet and restricted movement of posterior mitral leaflet. ✓ Reduction of valvular area (narrow): button like or funnel shaped. ✓Calcification of valves (increased echogenecity). ✓ Shortening of chordae tendinae. ✓ Enlarged left atrium. ✓ Reduced rate of diastolic filling of left ventricle. ✓ Characteristic “M” shape movement of anterior leaflet normally seen in diastole is lost and the diastolic slope (EF) is reduced. ✓Thrombus may be seen.
