PSA to anyone who is considering buying in bulk from mercari (includes, me, you, and everyone) there has been a recent rise in fake badges circulating around in mercari, especially from sellers who sell badges in bulk amounts (ie. 30, 50, 80, etc) above images are comparisons of an official badge and an example of a fake badge (source) many bulk listings tend to only put down an image of one badge with a number written beside; although there are some listings where the full bulk is shown while it can be helpful, with the rise in fake badges (esp rare badges), some of these sellers will photoshop images using one singular badge to create the illusion of the bulk so please be careful 🙏 some safety tips: - check seller reviews - if the seller seems to throw out lots of listings in a short number of time please be wary - if the image seems photoshopped, check for reflection, lighting, shadows - cliche, if a bulk is too good to be true it probably is - video record an unboxing if possible - PROXY INSURANCE!
