📍Valley of Geysers, Kamchatka
Geysers are a very rare phenomenon in the world. Each one has a name and its own temper.
This area of the Valley of Geysers on Kamchatka is the edge of a large volcanic caldera, which acts as a giant water reservoir. The water is heated by magma to up to 300 degrees, gets saturated with gases, and rises towards the surface.
A geyser shoots water periodically - it can go silent for hours, sometimes days.

The Itelmen are a small ethnic group of the Kamchatka Peninsula in eastern Russia. One hypothesis says they sailed to Kamchatka from Hawaii. Another claims they trekked from Mongolia. Some say the Itelmen originate in America. However, the Itelmen call themselves the “people living here.” Archeologists proved that the Itelmen have been living on Kamchatka for over 8,000 years.
