🤑Solana News
Solana network node operators and stakers are currently voting on two key proposals regarding the Solana blockchain:
SIMD-0550 Proposal: This proposal aims to double the annual reduction rate of new SOL issuance from 15% to 30%, while keeping the 1.5% terminal floor intact. This will reduce the amount of SOL entering circulation by approximately 18.9 million tokens over the next six years.
SIMD-0553 Proposal: Instead of the existing signature-fee burning mechanism, this proposes introducing a resource-based fee driven by network capacity, which will be completely burned.
Price and Market Activity:
On August 26, SOL's daily UTC close was recorded at $102, marking the first time it surpassed the $100 threshold since February 3.
On August 27, it successfully managed to sustain its price above the $100 mark.
U.S. Solana funds (ETFs) recorded consecutive net inflows over seven trading days from August 18 to August 26, bringing the cumulative total to $1.26 billion (with August 26 alone accounting for $9.14 million).
In July, non-vote transactions (excluding validator votes, user transfers, and app usage) surged to 4.2 billion, setting a new monthly record.
