Today, Clann Éireann remembers and commemorates the gallant efforts of Cathal Brugha for the cause of Irish Nationalism. Brugha was shot by Free-State forces on the 5th of July, 1922, and later succumbed to his injuries on the 7th.
“Oh, had they died by Pearse's side,
Or fought with Cathal Brugha,
Their names we'd keep where the fenians sleep,
'Neath the shroud of the foggy dew”
