After watching Neill Blomkamp's AI-generated short film "Nightborne", you are left with a strange, lingering feeling. At first glance, everything looks flawless: cinematic lighting, surprisingly natural lip-syncing; however, the upper portion of the characters' faces gives the game away. The eyes and foreheads remain unnaturally frozen, lacking those subtle micro-expressions that connect a human's thoughts with their facial expressions. While many online were quick to criticize the project, Vasiliy Mazin (Head of AI Lab and Co-owner of Mind Simulation Lab) sees something more in it. To him, this is not a failure, but a clumsy first step, similar to those made by 3D animation in its early days. This experiment clearly demonstrates the exact barrier that AI filmmaking technologies have yet to overcome. In the photo I am with world-renowned futurist Gerd Leonhard at the Doing Digital Forum (DDF) 2025, who during the forum delivered a vision of the future that balances technological optimism with "humanist" caution. Also he described the technology as a "Hellven" paradox meaning it can solve climate change (Heaven) or lead to total cognitive atrophy (Hell). The choice is ours, but the window is closing. He will be speaker at Investment perspective conference on 11 September organised by Cube Invest. I will be there to talk to him again to see where the tech is moving next. "Real School" Educational Foundation is an alternative, vocational middle-specialized institution. Education at the school is delivered through a "learning by doing" model: after the 9th grade, over the course of 4 years, students master programming, engineering, robotics, cybersecurity and etc. while engaging in real-world projects. The format of study resembles the initial working years of junior specialists in research centers and innovative enterprises. Yesterday marked the official launch of the school's new academic session. Upon completion of the program, graduates receive a state-recognized diploma and a ready work portfolio, immediately joining Armenia's technological ecosystem. «Իրական դպրոց» կրթական հիմնադրամն այլընտրանքային, արհեստավարժ միջին մասնագիտական հաստատություն է. Դպրոցում ուսուցումն իրականացվում է «սովորել աշխատելով» մոդելով․ ուսանողները 9-րդ դասարանից հետո 4 տարվա ընթացքում յուրացնում են ծրագրավորում, ինժեներիա, ռոբոտաշինություն, կիբեռանվտանգություն և այլն՝ ներգրավվելով իրական պատվերներում։ Ուսման ձևաչափը նման է գիտահետազոտական կենտրոնների և նորարական ձեռնարկությունների կրտսեր մասնագետների աշխատանքային առաջին տարիներին։ Երեկ պաշտոնապես տրվեց դպրոցի ուսումնական նոր փուլի մեկնարկը: Ծրագրի ավարտին շրջանավարտները ստանում են պետական նմուշի դիպլոմ և պատրաստի աշխատանքային պորտֆոլիո՝ անմիջապես համալրելով Հայաստանի տեխնոլոգիական էկոհամակարգը։

On September 1st, Seroond opened its founding cohort in Vahakni City, the first launch of a new authored school model designed specifically for Armenia. Developed in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Seroond's author's program centers whole-child development: academic growth alongside social-emotional learning, with Armenian identity woven throughout. Each child follows a personalized learning plan and progresses at their own pace, with an emphasis on their core strengths. Teachers act as mentors and guides rather than traditional instructors, supported by technology, including AI, rather than replaced by it. Seroond is designed as the first of a network of schools across Armenia: free, open to the public, and built in partnership with others working toward a confident and free generation.
