in some ways, i found this story relatable, but most of the time, i felt uncomfortable bc what in the world is happening 🤠 questionable choices, grinding, shitty friends & weird acquaintances: Isa’s journey in NYC.. a huge amount of setup with no punchline at the end :( imagine a DJ set where the music builds tension but never delivers a beat drop.. yeah, that’s this book it felt like i was reading someone’s diary with no structure or real plot but ✨ thank god ✨ this book came to me at the right time! i did wanna try smth new and supa light :) so for me, it’s a 3/5 only bc i was in the mood to enjoy two young women trying to find their way in a big city

just because you don’t require much doesn’t mean you deserve the bare minimum 💐🍓☀️🧺🫐

story time: i ran for a full two minutes to catch a bus. i know. humiliating. but as soon as i started running, i was out of breath because i don’t do any cardio in my life, except for those five terrifying minutes on a stairmaster at the gym. anyway, at some point during those two allegedly short minutes (which felt like an eternity), i started losing faith in myself and was on the verge of giving up, ready to wait another 15 minutes at the bus stop, reading god knows what. then, a voice in my head told me to keep going, even if my pace stayed painfully slow. by the 1.75 minute mark, i agreed with that voice and kept pushing. and then, out of nowhere, a man appeared in my path. mind you, he was busy talking on the phone, yet he still made a choice: when he saw me, he immediately turned around and waved at the bus driver to wait. wow, what a nice, distinguished gentleman, i thought. anyway, i made it safely and realized - no matter how slowly you’re moving toward your goal, you’ll eventually get there if you don’t stop. and sometimes, you might even find a little unexpected help to give you that final push 🤚🏼
