In recent years, the advancement of technologies has undeniably transformed the way young people spend their leisure time. I personally believe that the drawbacks of this development outweigh the benefits for some sound reasons. To begin with, there are a number of advantages using high-tech, such as mobile phones, lap tops, tablets. First and foremost, in today’s rapidly evolving world, children are really into using state-of-the-art technologies in order to spend their quality time effectively in their free time, interact with their peers, and improve their digital literacy in education. For example, according to the research, 40 percent of youth aged 12 and above in Uzbekistan have portable devices, which enable to foster communication with friends. In addition, these tools are the primary contributors to increasing knowledge, productivity, electronic-based literacy as well as IQ levels. In contrast, there are others who think that modern tools, for instance, computers, gadgets, TV, have affected children in terms of emotional well-being and cognitive development. As their brains are in developmental stages at the age between 10 and 15, it can lead to health problems, such as eye strains and obesity, as a result of overspending their time in front of screens or due to the lack of exercise. For example, children aged 12 and younger in Tashkent, Namangan and Andijan are suffering from getting overweight due to the sedentary lifestyle as a consequence of watching movies and cartoons in front of the TV, which can lead to the decrease in their brain systems as well as their eyesight. In conclusion, although there are several reasons to support young people to use modern technologies, I strongly believe that this matter should be taken under control by limiting the daily use of these tools. 289 words.
