The indian government has declared that literally no document proves citizenship. Not the passport, voter ID card, biometric (aadhar) card, land records, birth certificate, or any other documents. The vicious state has been consistently imprisoning Muslims and other minorities, and also carrying out oppression and genocide through paramilitary groups (such as against Kuki-Zo christians in Manipur or the numerous lynchings and mob violence against Muslims).
With the right to citizenship reduced to a discretionary privilege at the mercy of a state that disbelieves its own documents, what remains is neither the proof nor the right.
