AYUSH- The acronym stands for Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, siddha and Homeopathy. 🔹They have been traditionally practiced in India and now are being recognized as Alternative systems of  medicine. 1- Ayurveda- Originated in India  Based on concept of balance between mind, body and spirit. It aims to  promote, preserve and restore health by using natural remedies. 2- Yoga- A holistic system that brings mind and body in synchronisation. it involves set of  meditation with physical and breathing exercises. 3- Unani- It uses herbs and natural remedies to treat illness. It originated in Greece and later developed in Iran and Arab Countries. 4- Siddha- It emphasises on balancing the 5 component our body . (earth, water ,fire, air, ether) and three doshas of Kaph, Vatta & Pitta and is originated in India. 5- Homeopathy- Originated in Germany and is based on principle of “like cures like” it uses  substances in different dilutions to treat illness. Advantages of AYUSH- (1) Low cost (2) Wider acceptability and a sense of cultural heritage (3) Offers comprehensive health care- offers holistic modes of intervention from prevention to  cure of chronic illness  (4) Rese in burden of non-communicable illness (5) Less side effect and safer for long use Challenges:- 1- Limited research & development 2- Lock of standardardization 3- Risk of metal toxicities if drug regulation system is not robust. 4- Fake drugs, claims of magical remedies ex. Cure diabetes in 72 hours 5- Use of allopathic drugs in Ayurveda Ex. Using steroid powder in psoriasis Govt. efforts: 1- National AYUSH Mission  2- Opening up of AYUSH medical colleges  3- National commissions for Alternative system of medicine to regulate education. 4- Ayurveda University and improvement in quality of doctors. 5- Focus on integration with Allopathy in National Health policy 2017. Conclusion 1 There is a need to relook into AYUSH which is our traditional heritage. Having stood the test of time, it is imperative to work of standardization and scientific studies on AYUSH to suit modern and evidence based medicine. Conclusion 2: AYUSH system of medicine can be integrated with modern medicine to provide a comprehensive health care ex. Role of Yoga in controlling Diabetes ,Ayurveda for chronic illness (such as migraine)

National Health Mission-(NHM) Uttar Pradesh 🔹The NHM was launched by Government of India in 2013 to provide comprehensive and  quality health care services to the people with special emphasis on equity, affordability  and thrust on rural and underserved areas of the country. It was launched by merging  national rural and national urban heath mission. 🔹NRHM was launched in U.P. in 2005 NHM in Uttar Pradesh: - 🔹Strengthening health infrastructure by upgrading and improving facilities provided at primary,  community health centres and District Hospital. 🔹 Improving quality of manpower-by training and empowering ASHA, doctors, upgrading  laboratories infrastructure.  🔹In the field of maternal & child heath govt. is running schemes as Janani Suraksha Yojna  (promotes institutional deliveries), Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (for child health) . 🔹Disease Control-National programme for control, elimination of disease like HIV, malaria,  Tuberculosis are run under NHM . 🔹To improve the status of nutrition-ex- Iron Plus, Initiative, Anaemia Mukt Bharat, ICDS through  the agency of Anganwadi Achievements 1- Reduction in MMR from 360 in 2011 to 197 in 2019 . 2- Massive success in % of fully immunized children from 8% in 2006 to 60.1 in 2021 . 3- Improvement in institutional delivers from 18% in 2005 to 85% in 2021 . 4- Improvement in in front mortality rate from 75 in 2005 to 41 in 2019

EXERCISES IN NEWS ✅ SADA TANSEEQ:  🔹between India and Saudi Arabia. 🔹Inaugural edition will be held in Rajasthan. ✅MILAN 2024: 🔹MILAN 2024 is a multilateral naval exercise, hosted by India. ✅ Exercise 'DOSTI-16': 🔹 16th biennial exercise between India, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka . 🔹Bangladesh is participating as an observer. ✅Exercise Steadfast Defender 24: 🔹NATO started its largest military exercise since the Cold War called Steadfast Defender 2024. ✅Exercise Khanjar: 🔹 India-Kyrgyzstan Joint Special Forces. 🔹 held in Himachal Pradesh. ✅Exercise Cyclone: 2nd edition of the India-Egypt  🔹exercise held in Egypt. ✅Exercise Desert Knight: 🔹Indian Air Force conducted Exercise Desert Knight along with French Air and Space Force and UAE Air Force. ✅ Ex-Desert Cyclone: 🔹 It is a joint military exercise between India and UAE. ✅Exercise Sea Dragon: 🔹It is a multinational maritime exercise to enhance interoperability between Indian Navy and participating navies from US, Australia, South Korea and Japan. ✅MILAN 24 Exercise: 🔹It is a biennial multi-national naval exercise. 🔹It was first conceived by Indian Navy in 1995 at Andaman and Nicobar Command with participation of four countries (Indonesia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand). ✅ Ex-Ayutthaya: 🔹  Maritime Exercise between the Indian Navy (IN) and Royal Thai Navy. 🔹 Along with this bilateral exercise, the 36th edition of India-Thailand Coordinated Patrol (Indo-Thai CORPAT) was also conducted. ✅ Samudra Lakshman 🔹held between India and Malaysia in Visakhapatnam. ✅Shanti Prayas .🔹 co hosted by Nepal Army and US Indo Pacific Command. 🔹total of 17 countries participated in this exercise. ✅ 10th LAMITIYE 🔹 between India and Seychelles. 🔹held in Seychelles.
