Met with a professor from Connecticut College. As Nilufar's professor was coming to visit Uzbekistan due to their educational studies of cultures, I had the opportunity to meet with ConnCollege's professor - Andrea, who is a lovely woman with great enthusiasm in studying Russian Language and Literature. I honestly didn't expect her to be this much kind and high interest in learning more about our culture. We talked about literature, different stereotypes and cultural differences between our countries, and many more. Let it not happen to anyone, of course, but you should know these tips in any case : 1. When you notice someone following you, go to public and crowded areas. Never go to places where there are fewer or no people. Be around people. There's less possibility of them harming you in public, and they may even easily lose you in a crowd. 2. Approach people around you, and do not hesitate to ask for help. Stay with them, and don't go away from them even if the stalker disappears. He might continue following you afterwards. Call 1050, the emergency number, or the police- 102. You can also contact your family members or friends and tell them about the situation without panicing (if your phone's charge is not low or dead, of course, like it was with mine🪫). 3. If you are not sure whether the person is actually stalking you or not, try this: enter any cafe or shop nearby and sit there for a while. If the person following you enters too, go out and wait until he also leaves. As he goes out, you enter the cafe one more time, and he will go crazy, not knowing what to do. Because if he enters the cafe again, it will make his stalking noticeable. Tell the staff there about it, and they'll call the police.✅ 4. If you are being stalked on your way home, NEVER RUSH TO GO HOME.
