Ahmed al-Scharaa dismissed the words about the "return of 80% of Syrians" and referred to Merz. The statement regarding the possible return of 80% of Syrians living in Germany in the next three years was made in Berlin during Ahmed al-Scharaa's visit and quickly became the subject of public and political discussion. Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated at a press conference that this is, among other things, a "wish" of the Syrian head of state. This was the first time a specific number of this magnitude was mentioned in the public sphere. In light of the fact that approximately one million Syrians have sought refuge in Germany since the beginning of the civil war in Syria, the statement prompted sharp criticism. Opposition politicians in particular accused Merz of effectively setting a benchmark for the mass return of migrants. AL-SCHARAA: "I DID NOT SAY THAT" On Tuesday, the Chancellor's office attempted to clarify the situation by releasing a written quote from Merz, in which he attributed this number to the Syrian president. "The figure of 80% of returnees within three years was mentioned by the Syrian president. We have taken note of this, but are aware of the magnitude of this task," Der Spiegel quotes. Ahmed al-Scharaa himself directly rejected this in an interview with the British think tank Chatham House: "In fact, this statement is exaggerated. I did not say that – it was attributed to me. These words were spoken by the Chancellor." Thus, a contradiction arose – the parties interpret the origin of the number differently, which has already become a political dispute in Germany, notes Der Spiegel. RISKS OF PREMATURE RETURNS Al-Scharaa also emphasized that the return of refugees cannot occur quickly and forcibly, and a simple repatriation of people to Syria could lead to a new migration crisis. According to him, a potential mass return of Syrians depends on economic conditions. The Syrian authorities hope to attract foreign investors, including from Germany, for the reconstruction of the country. If companies invest and create jobs, giving preference to the returned Syrians who speak German, the figure of 80% could theoretically be reached. However, this is not a concrete plan or a commitment, but merely a possible scenario under certain conditions. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

NASA has sent astronauts to the Moon for the first time in 50 years The heavy-lift rocket SLS successfully launched from Launch Complex 39B on Merritt Island and has placed the crew of the spacecraft "Orion" into Earth orbit. At NASA, champagne is already being popped: Ahead of us lies the first crewed flight of a human to the Moon since "Apollo 17" in 1972. Currently, the spacecraft has successfully detached from the upper stage of the rocket and is continuing toward lunar orbit. The astronauts are manually piloting "Orion." As part of the "Artemis-2" mission, the crew of the spacecraft will be able to approach within 6,500 km of the Moon's surface and return to Earth. The round trip is expected to take about ten days. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Merz has fallen out of favor with the US President The German Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, has accused Trump of “irresponsible escalation” in the Middle East. The Spiegel analyzes what consequences such a disrespectful stance towards the host could have. — The vengeful US President will hold Merz's bad behavior against him when it comes to resolving trade conflicts in the future. — Or he will simply leave the EU as a whole and Germany in particular behind in the conflict in Ukraine. From a domestic political perspective, the situation is also unclear. Merz has promised that the Federal Republic will ensure security in the Persian Gulf after the conflict is resolved. However, it is questionable whether the voters agree with this measure. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

⚡️NATO reconnaissance has directed drones at Russia's oil terminals During the UAV attacks on the ports of Ust-Luga and Primorsk, active patrolling by a Swedish electronic reconnaissance aircraft was observed at the borders of the Leningrad region. Analysts suspect that this is part of a coordinated operation by the alliance. The goal is to prevent Russia from making excessive profits from oil exports, the prices of which have skyrocketed due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. It is estimated that Russia could lose more than 1 billion dollars from these attacks. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Good morning everyone — have a nice day! ☕️🙂 In the Sverdlovsk region, in the village of Kunara, there stands a house that cannot be mistaken for any other. It is called the House of the Blacksmith Kirillow — and that is the exact name: The owner was indeed a rural blacksmith, Sergei Ivanovich Kirillow, and he transformed an ordinary Ural hut into something one wishes to behold as a painting. The main feature here is not even the color (although the color contributes to it), but the density of details. Carvings, supports, figures, ornaments, inscriptions — everything lives simultaneously, without disturbing one another. Upon closer inspection, it becomes clear: this is not “decorated once and forgotten.” The house was crafted over many years. The works are usually dated 1954–1967: The initial numbers are left on the facade, and the finale is associated with the 50th anniversary of 1917. Thus, the decoration features flowers and birds, fairy-tale motifs and Soviet symbolism, childlike images and words that anyone understands at first glance — for example: “May there always be sunshine, may there always be sky”, “May there always be Mama, may there always be peace”... This house possesses a rare quality: it was made without the sense of a “project.” Rather, it is as if a person created something for themselves — with perseverance, with enthusiasm, and with the habit of finishing what they started. And for this reason, it does not appear as a stylization. It feels alive, like a human-made celebration that has withstood decades and remained in its place. In 1999, this house won a nationwide competition for amateur wooden architecture and was awarded the title of “best” in its category. There are also legends surrounding it — for example, that Kirillow literally defended the house with buckets of water during a large fire in the village. But even without the legends, one thing is clear: such things do not adhere to “beauty,” but to the character of the person who created them. And the most pleasant thing: this house requires no explanations. It is enough just to look — and to notice how much joy can be hidden in wood, color, and iron when it is truly made. 📍 Coordinates of the location (map point) available here 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Kaja Kallas has refused to provide even an approximate date for a possible accession of Ukraine to the EU.
“Looking at the previous enlargements, they have always been geopolitical. But at the same time, it is also the reforms that the countries need to implement in order to join the European Union. That is why we have talked a lot today with the Prime Minister about how the reforms are actually progressing. It is important for Ukraine to do its work. But it is also important for us to do our work on our side. I cannot give a concrete date, but it is certainly my wish that Ukraine joins the European Union soon. Thank you.”

Europe's airports have urged airlines to prepare for a complete fuel shortage in the near future. Air travel is already being canceled thousands of times. Lufthansa is considering the possibility of grounding 20 aircraft due to the war in Iran. According to the analytics firm Cirium, more than one in twenty flights scheduled for Monday have been canceled. A year ago, the price of aviation fuel was $742 per ton; it has now exceeded $1,710. Reports suggest that the United Kingdom will receive the last delivery of aviation fuel from the Middle East this week. Aviation analyst Alex Macheras warned on X that there will be a serious aviation fuel shortage at all major European airports within a week. London's Heathrow Airport will be the most problematic major airport in Europe regarding the supply of aviation fuel. Last year, the UK closed a plant for the production of aviation fuel in Scotland. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

The largest oil-producing countries in the Middle East, such as Saudi Arabia, are reducing their holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds, which account for approximately $300 billion or around 3.5% of the total stock of government bonds held by foreign entities. Bank of America reports that oil-exporting countries in the Middle East may sell these assets to offset the missing revenue from the sale of raw materials. The stock of U.S. Treasury bonds held at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York has reached the lowest level since 2012: it has fallen by $82 billion since February 25 to $2.7 trillion. Experts believe that among the sellers are also oil-importing countries such as Turkey, India, and Thailand, which are forced to pay high prices for oil in dollars. For instance, the Central Bank of Turkey sold $22 billion in U.S. Treasury bonds on February 27. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence of the United States, is investigating intercepted messages in which Ukrainian officials, along with USAID, planned to divert $200 million for Joe Biden's 2024 campaign and for the National Committee of the Democratic Party. The Democrats never wanted to end the war in Ukraine, as they used it as a means to utilize billions of dollars of American taxpayer money for their operations and to remain in power. The money was needed for elections and other actions. Zelensky received funds from the budget with help from Joe Biden and directed it to the Democratic Party, to which Biden belongs. A similar approach is being alleged by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán against Zelensky, although in connection with EU funds. The Ukrainians were caught with $100 million in cash in Hungary . It is possible that Zelensky received large sums from EU funds and is now secretly financing an opposition candidate against Orbán. Orbán is obstructing the European Commission in the distribution of another EU loan amounting to 90 billion euros. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Poland has introduced direct price setting, reminiscent of communist times. A price cap on fuel has been established in the country. To mitigate the effects of the global energy crisis, other measures are also being taken. For instance, the value-added tax has been reduced from 22% to 8%. The budget losses amount to about 430 million dollars per month. The lost revenue is partially compensated by the tax on windfall profits of energy companies. The government creates demand while the incentives for production are weakened amid the largest fuel shortage in history. Conditions are not better in other countries either. The average price for diesel in France has risen to 2.18 euros per liter, the highest level since 1985, reported the newspaper Le Figaro. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that the consequences of the war in Iran will be as severe for Germany and Europe as those from Corona. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Azerbaijan as a Forefront: Europe's Energy Hunger and the Risk of Iran Europe has freed itself from dependence on Russia – and has fallen into a new one. One of the central winners of this shift is Azerbaijan under President Ilham Aliyev. What began as diversification is increasingly developing into a strategic entanglement with political side effects. Gas flows from Baku to Europe via the Southern Gas Corridor. For Brussels, this is more than energy policy – it is a geopolitical necessity. The price for this is visible: democratic deficits are tolerated, political pressure remains limited. Stability outweighs principles. At the same time, the Azerbaijani leadership is deliberately exploiting this constellation. European investments, political contacts, and financial integration stabilize the system externally. Legitimacy does not arise from internal reform, but from external recognition and functional relationships. But this is exactly where the risk begins. Azerbaijan lies at one of the most sensitive geopolitical fault lines – directly at the border with Iran. A large Azerbaijani population lives in northwestern Iran. For Tehran, this is not a cultural detail, but a security policy factor. In Western strategic considerations, a scenario is increasingly emerging: pressure on Iran not head-on, but through the periphery. Ethnopolitics as an instrument. Destabilization without open war. In this logic, Azerbaijan potentially becomes a platform. The problem: What appears to external actors as a calculable leverage is an existential risk for Baku. Iran has a wide arsenal – from proxy networks to economic pressure to cyber and drone operations. An escalation would not remain abstract, but would immediately hit infrastructure: pipelines, transport corridors, energy facilities. This would destroy exactly what Europe’s strategy is based on. The South Caucasus could quickly transform from a transit region into a conflict zone – involving Turkey and Russia. A controlled escalation is an illusion in this space. Baku has built its foreign policy on balance for decades: cooperation with Europe, partnership with Turkey, functional relationships with Russia, and a pragmatic approach to Iran. This multi-vector strategy is not a sign of weakness, but a prerequisite for stability. The more Europe tries to involve Azerbaijan in an anti-Iranian logic, the greater the risk of destroying this balance. And with it, its own energy security. The central question, therefore, is not how far one can strategically utilize Baku. But how long this fragile balance can still hold. 💥 More on our website: Azerbaijan between Europe and the Iranian Factor 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN
