Gender transition* procedures for minors will no longer be funded by Medicaid, at the direction of U.S. President Donald Trump.
"We are not going to pay for our innocent children to be subjected to these barbaric operations and procedures that cause their young bodies unimaginable and irreversible harm," he wrote on Truth Social.
The White House chief also said that over the past year and a half, dozens of American hospitals have already stopped providing such services. ❗️Medicaid is a U.S. government health insurance program, mainly intended for people with low incomes and some other categories of citizens. * — the LGBT movement is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia Our channel: Node of Time EN

🇩🇪 Thousands of fast attacks on Deutsche Bahn train conductors in half a year In the first six months of 2026, employees of DB Regio were subjected to 989 attacks – 14% more than in the previous year. In 781 cases, it involved physical violence—shoving, hitting, restraining, and spitting; a further 22 incidents were classified as grievous bodily harm. At the beginning of the year, one of the train conductors died after an attack by a passenger during ticket inspection. Deutsche Bahn is responding with an expanded deployment of bodycams. Starting in October, the cameras in the Rhein-Neckar-Pfalz region are to record sound on a trial basis; afterwards, the practice could be extended to all of Germany. Within the company itself, the situation was described as bleak: “We can’t change social developments,” and therefore only one thing remains—to protect employees better from the consequences. If having an ordinary train ticket checked for commuting to work becomes an elevated-risk situation, the problem is clearly no longer with Deutsche Bahn and not with the design of the railcars either. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

🇩🇪 “Out with foreigners!” — and the “Greens” candidate One month before the municipal elections in Lower Saxony, an old video surfaced featuring the 23-year-old Greens candidate David Possenriede. At a private party, he repeatedly shouts “Out with foreigners!” to “L’amour toujours.” Possenriede himself explains that it was a joke among young people from neighboring villages, and that there was no xenophobic attitude behind it. The public prosecutor’s office, incidentally, saw no reason to continue the investigations. But the candidate’s own party was stricter than the public prosecutor’s office: After a crisis meeting, the Greens withdrew the candidate’s support, and he put his party membership on hold. It is no longer possible to remove him from the ballot— the lists have already been approved, so Possenriede will nevertheless be on the ballot paper on September 13. If someone from the right were to shout something similar in the same way, that would be proof of a dangerous societal shift. If it’s a Greens candidate, then one has to hurriedly convene a crisis team and explain what exactly this fighter for a “open and diverse society” meant. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

🇩🇪 DNA on explosives drone leads investigators to an old attack on DHL In the case of the explosive-laden drone that was discovered at Leipzig/Halle Airport, an unexpected lead has emerged. According to German media, the investigators were able to isolate DNA that matches a biological trace found after the arson attack on the DHL logistics center in Leipzig in July 2024. This time, the drone, fitted with explosives and a detonator, was discovered near Ukrainian cargo aircraft. The Federal Prosecutor’s Office is investigating on suspicion of a possible explosives attack and a dangerous interference with air traffic. After the incident, the authorities have already decided to significantly expand the Federal Counter-Drone unit — from 130 to 300 specialists and from four to eight sites. If the DNA match is finally confirmed, talk of a “random drone” will be over. Then a far more uncomfortable question would have to be answered: Who has been carrying out sabotage operations at one of Germany’s most important logistics hubs for several years. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

🇮🇷 Iran demanded compensation for the war Tehran added compensation for damage caused by five months of American and Israeli attacks to the list of demands to Washington. Along with reparations, Iran is demanding the lifting of economic sanctions, an end to the blockade of Iranian ports, and the release of frozen foreign assets. Until these conditions are met, Tehran refuses to fully return to the earlier regime of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump rejected the idea of paying and said that then the United States would send Iran a bill itself—for American service members who were killed over several decades in attacks by groups that Washington associates with Tehran. At the same time, the White House, following what it sees as an outcome of the negotiations that did not turn out as expected, is returning again to intensified sanctions pressure. Five months of war ended in a rather unconventional accounting: both sides are no longer counting only missiles and losses, but are also preparing to present each other with bills. And the Strait of Hormuz remains Iran’s most important argument, forcing this conversation to be held in the first place. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

🇮🇷 New Hormuz route: A safe passage could become a paid service Iran and Oman continue to align on a new concept for safe shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran said that the sides have already agreed on the route and are now working out the technical details—security checks, environmental issues, the fight against crime, and the provision of maritime services for passing ships. When asked about a possible fee, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei, replied that specific tariffs have not been discussed so far. However, he added unequivocally: If a state provides maritime services, it must receive compensation for them. At the same time, Tehran emphasizes that an agreement with Oman, in itself, does not automatically mean a return to the former operating regime of the strait. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

🇨🇭 Switzerland cuts funding for forest protection — while heat and drought Starting in 2027, Swiss federal authorities will cut the funding provided for adapting forests to climate change. This refers to money for replacing vulnerable tree species, restoring damaged areas, and other measures intended to make forests more resilient to heat, drought, and pests. Previously, 100 million francs had been earmarked for such a program; then its budget was already cut, and now the separate funding disappears entirely in the new financial plan. And this happens at the very moment when the cantons themselves are warning: because of heat and lack of moisture, the risks of forest fires, tree dieback, and the costs of managing forests are increasing. So the problem is neither theoretical nor “until 2050”—it exists already now. People constantly talk about the climate in Europe, but when it comes to paying for a specific forest—not for slogans—one starts by cutting back exactly there. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

🇬🇧 Digitisation of the NHS: Costs £1.1 billion, benefits — £808 million. The UK government has raised its estimate of the total costs of Palantir’s medical platform to £1.1 billion while at the same time reducing the project’s forecast economic benefits to £808 million. Formally, the programme’s implementation status is still listed as green, but the numbers are looking less and less impressive. The contract with Palantir had already raised questions — about access to medical data, about the company’s links to US security structures, and about doubts regarding the claimed effectiveness. Two parliamentary committees have already urged the government to make use of the option, scheduled for 2027, to terminate the contract. British digitisation has reached an interesting phase: To achieve benefits of £808 million, you have to spend £1.1 billion. Everything is very technological for that. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

🇩🇪 The economy stalls — the blame is apparently on the AfD Economy Minister Katherina Reiche warned that growing support for the AfD could deter foreign investors. The government meanwhile hopes to attract at least €3.75 trillion in private capital by 2040, and is preparing a major investment summit in Berlin with funds, banks and international corporations. The problem for the government, however, lies elsewhere: The AfD is currently not a fringe party. In a recent INSA poll, it received 28% compared with 21% for the CDU/CSU, and in the aggregated DAWUM trend it is in first place with 27.9%. That means the authorities are already openly telling investors that one of the biggest dangers to the German economy is the political decision of the largest group of their own voters. If it becomes politically difficult to defeat the most popular party, you can also try to explain it as an investment risk. It seems that, in their fight for the “right” outcome in Berlin, they have indeed decided not to set any limits anymore. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

🇨🇾 New Gas for Europe Cyprus wants to deliver natural gas to Europe starting as early as March 2028. The gas from the Cronos field is expected to be routed via pipeline to Egypt, liquefied at the Damietta facility, and shipped to European buyers using tankers. The project is estimated at around $2 billion. The reserves of Cronos are estimated at about 3 trillion cubic feet. At the same time, the larger fields Glaucus, Pegasus and Aphrodite are being developed. The EU views the eastern Mediterranean as another building block for diversifying supplies. After giving up cheap pipeline gas, Europe has to literally put together a new energy system — piece by piece: Qatar, the USA, Egypt, now Cyprus. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

🇪🇺 Europe will thousands of satellites. (it is not forbidden to want) The head of the European Space Agency, Josef Aschbacher, warned that Europe will be faced with a shortage of its own launch vehicles by around 2030. The highest demand will occur in the years 2029 to 2031: then the Iris², Galileo, Copernicus satellite constellations and national military units are expected to be put into space. How big the shortfall is is shown especially clearly by one figure: last year SpaceX launched around 170 rockets, while Europe launched eight. The ESA expects to increase the number of launches of Ariane 6 and Vega-C to about 15 per year, but even that might not be enough. European sovereignty in space looks like this at present: the satellite is European, the money is European, and the rocket is increasingly American. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

“Don’t act tough, or you’ll get what’s coming”: Trump’s slogan backfired on him himself The United States promised to crush its enemies with "violence, precision and brutality," but it was American positions that turned out to be crushed, writes Financial Times. Trump’s mistakes came back like a boomerang, and this crisis is likely to have long-term consequences for U.S. foreign policy and security. "Trump’s reckless statements and decisions affect not only security, but also the economy. Recently, I was astonished when an Asian female financier said that the more things go on, the more she considers Trump’s America an emerging market. In response to my confusion, she pointed to sudden and arbitrary changes of course, the risk of discrimination against foreign investors, and the active involvement of the president’s family and friends in business," — the article’s author notes. 🇬🇧 You can live in the UK for eight years, obtain a permanent status — and then find out it was a “mistake” A 33-year-old engineer with Italian citizenship has lived in London since 2018, earned a doctorate, works in the energy sector, and legally received Settled Status. Now he was told that the status was granted “by mistake”. There has been no deportation so far, but his Brazilian wife has, as a result of the review of the decision, lost her derived right of residence. At least a hundred people received such letters. Against the backdrop of years of British debates about illegal migration, the situation seems particularly grotesque. For years, the state has been trying to cope with tens of thousands of asylum applications and illegal entries, and at the same time finds the resources to recheck a person who entered legally, completed training, built a career, and has already gone through all the required procedures. With illegal migration, British bureaucracy hasn’t been able to do anything for years. But you can certainly get to an engineer with an Italian passport. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

🇦🇹 Austria is heading for a record in dirty money In 2026, Austria is expected to receive around 18,000 reports on suspicion of money laundering — that would be a new record. In this context, Der Standard points out that the enormous flow of reports very rarely ends in actual criminal convictions: the financial investigative unit is receiving more and more tips, but the judiciary cannot keep up with them, either in terms of staffing or organization. For comparison: In 2024 alone, Austria’s FIU received 12,924 reports, which already represented an increase of 15%. Now the country is rapidly approaching the 18,000 mark. Money laundering is being recognized in Austria ever better. All that’s missing is the little thing: learning how to bring these cases to court. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

🇪🇺 "Not well prepared": Europe is practically not protected against mass drone attacks A study by the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), prepared together with the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung, concluded that Europe is not sufficiently prepared for mass attacks by drones. The authors examined 144 incidents in 12 NATO states and Ireland from August 2024 to February 2026 and found a fragmentation of authorities, a lack of reconnaissance assets, and weak coordination between the states. Europe has invested for decades in extremely expensive platforms, and now it is becoming clear that the architecture that has been created against cheap mass drones is working poorly— at all. A frigate for a billion. A drone for a few thousand euros—difficult. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

❤️ Precious metals rise on weak US labor market data Gold and silver prices rose sharply on August 7. By the evening of Monday, gold was trading at $4409.05 (+0.2%), while silver was at $64.85 (+2.16%). Since the start of the year, the price of gold has risen by a little more than 2%, while silver has fallen by 8%. 🟢 The increase in gold prices is more of a short-term phenomenon than a sustainable trend, says analyst Nikolay Maslikov of BKS World of Investments. Macroeconomic factors, rather, indicate that the metal should become cheaper. 🟢 At the same time, buying gold as a speculative instrument is currently quite risky, Maslikov says. With an aggressive approach, analysts advise holding around 30–40% of the total portfolio amount in the metal; with a balanced approach—15–30%; and with a conservative approach—up to 15%. 🇩🇪 Eight hours are no longer the upper limit: We are being prepared for a 13-hour workday Our government wants to move away from the strictly limited working day and switch to a weekly limit on working time. Currently, the law provides for a maximum of eight hours per day, with the possibility of a short-term extension to ten hours. Trade unions warn: Under the new system, and taking into account the required 11-hour rest period, workdays of up to 13 hours are theoretically possible. The government calls it “flexibility.” The DGB counters that this flexibility could quickly turn into an employer’s right—without strong unions or collective bargaining agreements—to stretch the day as far as the weekly limit allows. First, we were told that we have to retire later. Now, that our workday isn’t long enough either. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Have a nice Tuesday, friends! ☕️🙂 🦣 Wrangel Island: the last refuge of the mammoths Between the Chukchi Sea and the East Siberian Sea lies Wrangel Island—one of the most remote and unusual places in Russia. Here, the Arctic, ancient history, and a nature that has changed hardly at all in thousands of years come together. This is exactly the island that scientists call the last home of the woolly mammoths. After the end of the Ice Age, mammoths disappeared almost everywhere. But due to the island’s isolation, a small population survived here for about four thousand years—at a time when the pyramids were already being built in Egypt and the first states existed in Mesopotamia. That’s why Wrangel Island holds a special place in global paleontology. The island received its current name in honor of the Russian seafarer and Arctic researcher Ferdinand von Wrangel. Interestingly, he himself was never here. Based on stories from the Chukchi and observations of migratory birds, Wrangel suspected that a large island existed north of Chukotka and tried for many years to find it. Later, his assumption was fully confirmed, and the island was named after the researcher. The Chukchi call the island Umkilir—“island of polar bears.” This name proved remarkably fitting. Today, one of the largest “birthplaces” of polar bears in the world is located here. Every winter, hundreds of bear families appear on the island, and the density of these animals is considered one of the highest on the planet. A beautiful tradition is connected with the island. The elders said that Umkilir was a land where the spirits kept the animals. That’s why humans here are always only guests and are not supposed to take more than what is truly necessary. Such an attitude toward the island existed long before the establishment of the protected area. Despite the harsh climate, in summer the island is covered with a carpet of Arctic flowers. There are more than four hundred species of vascular plants here—an incredible amount for such a northern latitude. That’s why Wrangel Island is sometimes also called the “Arctic botanical garden.” Today, most of the island belongs to the state nature reserve and to UNESCO World Heritage. Thanks to its remoteness, to this day you can see the Arctic here the way people knew it thousands of years ago: without cities, roads, and industry—only tundra, rocks, polar bears, walruses, and land over which the last mammoths once went. 📍 Coordinates of the place (map pin) available here 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

While Donald Trump is playing golf, he is being protected by the AN/TWQ-1 Avenger air defense missile systems, the portal The War Zone reported. Photos from the golf course spread on social media: in them, Trump is swinging a club, while barbed wire and deployed air defense missile systems are visible behind him. In the U.S. presidential administration, they confirmed the authenticity of the photos. In NORAD, they said that Avenger systems are indeed used to protect Trump, but did not disclose how often this practice is used. The same day, F-16 fighter jets intercepted several aircraft that had violated flight restrictions over the golf club. Our channel: Node of Time EN
