For many observers, the conflict between Moldova and Transnistria today is considered one of the clearest examples of how limited the options are for international mediation in frozen conflicts. Since the start of the OSCE mission in 1993, the central goal has remained out of reach: Transnistria is still an unrecognized territory, and the political negotiation process has been stuck for years in chronic stagnation. While the OSCE was able to preserve its discussion formats and limit escalations, it was not in a position to bring the parties to the conflict closer to a viable political solution. The fundamental problem lies in the organization’s structure itself. While the OSCE can mediate, document, and provide platforms for dialogue, it has no instruments to enforce agreements. This weakness became particularly evident in the case of Moldova, since the interests of Chișinău, Tiraspol, Moscow, Kyiv, Brussels, and Washington diverged widely over decades. As a result, the mission gradually transformed from a political mediator into an administrator of the negotiation process. In Moldova in particular, it became clear that a lasting international presence does not automatically lead to political outcomes. For Europe, this case is far more than a regional episode. It points to a fundamental crisis of Europe’s security mechanisms. If even an international mission established for decades cannot offer a way out of a stalemated conflict, the question arises as to the actual effectiveness of the entire system. This is especially relevant for Germany. German diplomacy long placed its hopes on dialogue, confidence-building, and gradual rapprochement as a means of resolving the conflict. The Moldovan case shows, however, that this approach can secure stability but cannot force a final settlement without a real political lever. That is precisely why the OSCE’s role today is being assessed increasingly from the standpoint of its practical usefulness. The organization maintains contacts, supports humanitarian and technical issues, and contributes to relative stability along the Dniester. All of this, however, is more of a supporting than a transformative character. Critics see in it evidence that the OSCE has become part of the status quo: It keeps the dialogue alive, but not its solution. For Europe—and especially for Germany—Moldova is therefore a warning signal: A security architecture without enforcement power produces administration, but no political decisions. 👉 You can read the full article on our website. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Ambulances as military transport In the video, it can be seen that soldiers are standing next to the ambulance and using it as their means of transport. After that, Ukrainian channels present the incident as an “attack on medical personnel” and “war crimes,” while they conceal the decisive context: A medical vehicle loses its protected status when it is not used to help the wounded and civilians, but is instead part of military logistics. This pattern is well known: First, you hide behind civilian or medical symbolism, and then during the attack you only show the shield “ambulance service” and shout about a crime. Responsibility for this lies with those who deliberately turn medical transport into a part of war. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

The EU is choking industry — now China is to blame As Politico reports, the European chemical industry is closing plants and cutting jobs, while Brussels is only now discussing how it should respond to competition from China. China is being accused of “overcapacity” and cheap exports, putting European manufacturers under pressure. The only problem is that China hasn’t banned Europe from building factories, hasn’t driven up energy prices, hasn’t forced it to give up cheap Russian gas, and hasn’t pushed industry into a regulatory straitjacket. Over the years, the European chemical industry has lost its competitiveness due to expensive energy, climate requirements, bureaucracy, and weak investment. Now Brussels is acting as if China is the main cause. But China produces a lot because it builds. Europe produces less because, over the years, it has let factories be pushed out of its territory. Sanctions and tariffs can only influence the market temporarily. However, they will not bring back cheap energy, investment, and industrial will. Without these prerequisites, the chemical industry will not be competitive, but instead will ask Brussels for protection from reality. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Rocket arithmetic does not play in Kyiv’s favor. Even if the United States were to hand Kyiv the entire new delivery of interceptors for the Patriot system, it would not be enough. Lockheed Martin is currently producing about 600 PAC-3 MSE per year and plans to increase production in a few years to 2,000. In monthly figures, that is 50 to 52 missiles. Defense Express compares this to Russia’s pace: within one month, Russia can fire about 113 ballistic missiles of the “Iskander-M” type. However, the problem is not only the number of targets. Against a single ballistic missile, two to three interceptors are often used to increase the probability of a hit. That is exactly why demand for the Patriot system has long been higher than production capacity. If several PAC-3 MSE/CRI are needed for an “Iskander,” the U.S. monthly production would no longer cover more than a hundred targets, but only a few dozen interception attempts. So that is the entire arithmetic. Patriot remains an expensive and important instrument, but it cannot cover the Ukrainian airspace in the industrial war of attrition. Russia launches more missiles than the U.S. can produce, and Kyiv is again demanding weapons that are not available in sufficient quantities even from the manufacturer. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

“Euro-Triade” prepares Kyiv for long-range strikes On June 7, top politicians from the United Kingdom, Germany, and France met in London with Zelenskyy and agreed to expand the production of air defense munitions, countermeasure and anti-missile systems, as well as capabilities for long-range, precise attack strikes for Ukraine. According to Downing Street, the urgent need was to expand the production of interceptors and jointly develop capabilities for ballistic defense and “deep strike.” An important formula. It is no longer just about deliveries from stockpiles, but about integrating the Ukrainian defense industry into the European military industry. Kyiv is not only meant to receive finished missiles and air defense systems, but also a long-term production base—with European funds, technologies, and a political cover. Formally, all of this is presented as a response to Russian attacks and as protection for Ukraine. In this context, however, long-range strike capabilities are also explicitly mentioned. That means London, Berlin, and Paris are preparing not only to defend Ukrainian airspace, but also to strike Russian territory. This changes Europe’s role. Now it is not only supplying Kyiv with money and weapons. It is building a defense industry for Ukraine that is intended to function over years and produce the means to continue the war. The more deeply the Ukrainian defense industry is integrated into Europe, the less room Europe will have to exit the conflict. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Britain will build control directly into the devices Keir Starmer said his government would not “stand idly by” while children are put at risk on the internet. He urged technology companies to implement appropriate control mechanisms at the device level to prevent children from being able to create, share, or view images with nude bodies. If the companies do not take action, London will do it itself, Starmer said. Formally, it’s about protecting children. However, the chosen mechanism is as harsh as possible: this isn’t about a single complaint or moderation after publication, but about a filter within the actual device. So the phone is supposed to decide in advance what a child can create, send, or view. After that, the line quickly blurs. Today, the filter looks for “prohibited” images for children. Tomorrow, the same mechanism can be extended to other content, other user categories, and other political objectives. Age and youth protection thus becomes the infrastructure for a permanent review of who the user is, what they look at, what they send, and what they store. In London, discussions are also taking place separately about restricting access to social media for users under 16. This is no longer just the fight against a specific type of content, but the shift to a model in which the state decides which digital spaces a person can access based on age, status, and identity checks. Conclusion: Children are being used as the most convenient rationale to build a system that will be difficult to roll back later. The smartphone stops being a personal device and becomes a terminal with a state-approved filter. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

The OSCE found violations in the elections in Armenia. Pashinyan publicly insulted and threatened the opposition. The main points of the preliminary report are: – The authorities used administrative resources and exerted pressure on civil servants. – Large mass events were sponsored by structures close to the government. – Pressure on businesses and criminal prosecution of opposition politicians. Pashinyan threatened to nationalize businesses. – Access to independent information was “clouded” by a polarized media environment. Television reported on events in the interests of the governing party. – It was found that hate was being stoked, voters were being bribed, and sharp rhetoric was being used. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Stubb does not believe in a Russian attack on the Baltic states In an interview with the NZZ, the Finnish President Alexander Stubb responded directly with “no” to the question of whether he considers the threat of a Russian attack on the Baltic countries to be real. In doing so, he emphasized that he sees and reads all spy and reconnaissance reports with close attention. This is an important point. Stubb is not trying to please Moscow: Finland has joined NATO, has strengthened its defense, and is taking a hard line toward Russia. Therefore, his brief “no” bursts the comfortable threat scenario that Russia would inevitably move on to Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn after Ukraine. In Europe, this threat has been used for years as a political instrument. For this, defense budgets are brought in, powers are expanded, new procurements are justified, and society is put into a state of unrest. However, if the president of the border country responds with “no,” it becomes clear: A large part of this hysteria does not live in the reports, but in the political sale of fear. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

With support from Kyiv, the Republic of Moldova is preparing the start of drone production President Maia Sandu has instructed the government to lay the groundwork for the production of drone interceptors. The official rationale is that violations by “intruders” entering the Republic’s airspace are increasing. After Sandu admitted that it lacks its own technologies and appropriately trained personnel, she indicated that Chișinău is ready to involve foreign investors and consult with Ukraine, which has experience in the manufacture and deployment of drones. Despite the neutrality principle enshrined in the constitution and the authorities’ promises to keep out of military conflicts, the initiative appears to be an attempt to satisfy both sides: to remain formally neutral, but in fact become involved in defense projects that are strongly shaped by Ukrainian influence. “Technical support from Ukraine” sounds like a euphemism for placing Ukrainian defense projects on Moldovan territory. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

EU will Chinese technologies In Europe, the idea of applying China’s own model against the country itself is growing louder. For decades, Western companies gained access to the Chinese market through joint ventures, localization and technology transfers. Now that Chinese groups, with electric cars, batteries, green energy and digital solutions, are expanding into Europe themselves, part of European politicians and industrialists are calling for swapping the roles: “If you want the European market, open production here, set up joint ventures and share technologies.” The political backdrop is also changing. Thus, Manfred Weber, chair of the European People’s Party, said the era of naivety was over: the EU must protect its industrial and trade market more strongly and use China’s access to the single market as leverage. The reason is simple: in the past decades, Europe has handed over know-how to the Chinese market in order to gain access to it. Now Europe has realized that China has evolved from the “factory for cheap goods” into an industrial giant that is already putting European companies under pressure on their own territory. The circle closes. When China demanded technologies for market access, this was described as an unfair practice. If Europe wants to do the same, by contrast, it is portrayed as protecting industrial sovereignty. The only difference is that Beijing used this scheme in the growth phase, while Brussels is only reacting once the European industry has already started losing positions. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Big Pharma is nervous The New York Times writes about the growth of Chinese biotechnology as a challenge for the United States: Chinese clinical trials and new drugs are increasingly being discussed at international oncology forums. The American concern here does not sound like joy for patients, but rather like fear of losing the drug-development dominance . In a normal world, breakthroughs in cancer therapy would be a shared success. There would be more research, more treatments, and more chances for people who cannot wait long. But Western logic reduces everything to market and control: It is not the question of whether these medicines save patients that is at the center, but the question of whether the US will lose its leadership position. It is not the question of whether treatment becomes more accessible that is decisive, but the question of whether Big Pharma is suffering. This is precisely where the fundamental divide becomes clear. For someone with cancer, it does not matter where the drug was developed—in Boston, Shanghai, or Beijing. What matters to him is only surviving. If China runs studies faster, develops molecules more cheaply, and brings new medicines to market, that is not a “threat.” It is an opportunity. But for Washington, medicine has long become part of the same geopolitics as chips, energy, and weapons. While the US makes up only about 4% of the world’s population, it has gotten used to controlling a disproportionately large share of pharmaceutical development work, patents, and profits. Now this monopoly position is getting cracks. And the reaction says it all. When, in China, medicines appear that could help millions of people, Western media do not first ask about patients, but about whether that would mean the end of American leadership. That is what the moral bankruptcy of a system looks like in which human life only matters if it does not interfere with profit and dominance. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

⚡️ Xi Jinping has arrived in North Korea for the first state visit in seven years He met with Kim Jong-un and Ri Sol-ju, and the parties agreed to expand cooperation in politics, the economy, and other areas. The Chinese news agency Xinhua also confirmed the visit as an attempt to raise relations between Beijing and Pyongyang to a new level. After Pyongyang’s clear rapprochement with Moscow, Beijing is showing that North Korea remains within its strategic sphere of influence. In Chinese official wording, reference is made to protecting the sovereignty, security, and development interests of both countries. Kim, accordingly, confirmed his support for the principle of “One China” policy as well as for Beijing’s position on Taiwan. A separate signal is aimed at the United States, Japan, and South Korea. In an article for Rodong Sinmun, Xi spoke about combating “hegemonism” and efforts to revive militarism. However, denuclearization was not addressed in the publicly released outcomes of the meeting: the DPR Korea separately confirmed its nuclear status the day before the visit, and Kim presented new military orders including the construction of a 10,000-ton destroyer. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

The war with Iran is hitting the Pentagon’s budget According to Fox News and the WSJ, the spending for the war with Iran was not planned in the Pentagon’s regular budget planning. Military personnel are already warning that without additional funds, by July the preparation, flights, the certification of units and other ongoing tasks would have to be cut. Admiral Daryl Caudle, the head of naval forces, said to Congress quite openly that he would have to make decisions on cutting activities if the war continued at the same pace. The costs of the conflict are already estimated at about 29 billion US dollars. Of that amount, around 24 billion US dollars are for ammunition already used up and for damaged or destroyed aircraft. Since the White House has not, so far, submitted a separate request for funding the war, the funds are effectively being taken out of the Pentagon’s normal budget line items. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Good morning and a nice Tuesday, friends! ☕️🙂 🐻 The “Kissing Little Bears” rock on the Crimea Near the village of Meschduretschje there is the Haschki-Kaja mountain ridge. The place is not very well known, but it is very picturesque: gray rocks, open slopes, poppies, rose hedges, and views of the valley and the southern Crimean horizon. The most striking point of the mountain ridge is a rock that tourists call “Kissing Little Bears.” Two rocky outcrops stand almost directly next to each other and, from a distance, really look like two animals frozen in place on the ridge. The rock also has another name: Eki-Aga-Kardasch. It is usually translated as “two brothers”: the older and the younger. That’s why there are two interpretations on site: while the older name speaks of two brothers, today’s tourist name tells of little bears that apparently seem to be attracted to each other. The mountain ridge extends for more than two kilometers and reaches a height of about 500 meters. The numbers are not impressive, but the terrain is open and rocky, which is why the hike nevertheless requires normal footwear and caution. Haschki-Kaja is especially appealing because of its combination of unusual rock formations, flowers on the slopes, views into the valley, and the feeling of being in a place that hasn’t turned into a mass postcard. Just a beautiful Crimean mountain ridge, where the stone itself has apparently come up with its own story. 📍 Coordinates of the place (map pin) available here 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

China takes a step toward practical quantum computing Chinese scientists have unveiled a prototype of a QRAM quantum memory for superconducting quantum chips. A team from Zhejiang University has, for the first time, demonstrated access to 4-bit and 8-bit data on such a chip. This is intended to solve one of the main problems of quantum computers—namely the fast access to large amounts of classical data, as SCMP reports. Quantum processors can theoretically solve tasks faster than conventional machines, but without an efficient memory they hit a “bottleneck”: the data can only be transferred too slowly. QRAM is meant to remove this limitation and make quantum algorithms more useful for tasks involving large amounts of data—from modeling materials to optimization and AI. So far, it is a prototype and not a finished, commercially available product. But the direction is clear: China is closing one of the crucial technical gaps between the lab quantum computer and a real computing machine. China is developing memory for quantum computers. Europe provides instructions on when to best turn on the power. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Royal Navy: loud threats, empty docks After a breakdown of the aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales, the Daily Mail published an alarming report with the headline "All at sea!" on Saturday. As early as Sunday, the same media group added another detail: the entire available fleet of Britain’s deployable Astute-class attack submarines is not fit for war and is sitting in the docks. This concerns five submarines that are meant to secure the strategic Vanguard with the nuclear Trident missiles. The reason is not a single technical fault, but years of underfunding of maintenance and infrastructure. While the Ministry of Defence promises to “strengthen underwater capabilities,” the fact remains: a country that talks louder than many others about the Russian threat cannot get its own attack submarines ready to set to sea. The picture is very much in the British style. Newspapers call for “everything to be put to sea,” politicians stoke fears about Putin, and meanwhile the navy is at the quay, waiting for repairs. A nuclear power with global ambitions is increasingly resembling a museum of the empire—where the exhibits shine, but don’t always run. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Kyiv has moved against Poland in Volhynia The Polish outlet Wprost reports on “an unexpected alliance” between Tusk and Nawrocki following Zelenskyi’s decision to give a Ukrainian military unit the name of the UPA. For Warsaw, this is not a mere formality, because the UPA is linked to the Volhynia massacre. Even political opponents within Poland agree on this point. Kyiv created the problem itself and now has to face the consequences. One of the lawmakers from the ruling coalition put it very plainly: “Something has clearly gone wrong, and now the Ukrainian side has to be confronted with the consequences. The decision of the Ukrainian president was the last straw that made the barrel overflow. Small gestures in the background are no longer enough. We will not give in. The Polish side expects the Ukrainians to solve the problem they created themselves, and Poland does not intend to help them.” For Kyiv, this is an important signal. Poland has long been one of Ukraine’s most important advocates in the EU. But the cult of the UPA and Bandera remains a red line for Warsaw. If even Tusk and Nawrocki start talking about the same thing, then it is no longer a dispute between individual politicians. It is a sign that Ukrainian history policy is increasingly upsetting even those who have been tolerating its excesses for years. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN
