Nominal Account 1️⃣ PERSONAL ACCOUNT 👤 • A Personal Account is an account relating to a person, organisation, or entity with whom the business has financial dealings. 🔹Types of Personal Accounts A. Natural Personal Account - Relates to a human being. - Examples: Ram A/c, Employee A/c, Debtor A/c B. Artificial Personal Account - Relates to an entity recognised by law as a separate person. - Examples: Company A/c, Bank A/c, Government A/c, Club A/c C. Representative Personal Account - Represents a person or group of persons indirectly. - Examples:   - Outstanding Salary A/c → represents employees to whom salary is payable.   - Outstanding Rent A/c → represents the person to whom rent is payable.   - Prepaid Insurance A/c → represents the relevant party/service relating to the advance payment. 🔑 Golden Rule: • Debit the Receiver Credit the Giver 2️⃣ REAL ACCOUNT 🏦 • A Real Account is an account relating to the assets and properties of the business. 🔹Types of Real Accounts A. Tangible Real Account Assets having physical existence. • Examples: - Cash - Land - Building - Machinery - Furniture - Stock B. Intangible Real Account Assets having economic value but no physical existence. • Examples: - Goodwill - Patent - Copyright - Trademark 🔑 Golden Rule: • Debit what comes in Credit what goes out 3️⃣ NOMINAL ACCOUNT 💰 • A Nominal Account records expenses, losses, incomes and gains of the business. • These accounts are ultimately used to determine the profit or loss of the accounting period.
