Kobani Under Siege: A Humanitarian Catastrophe Threatens Hundreds of Thousands as Roads Remain Closed The city of Kobani has been under a suffocating siege since January 20th, imposed by factions loyal to the al-Gulani authority. This has led to a near-complete cutoff of food, medicine, and fuel, effectively isolating the city from its surroundings. The siege has had a devastating impact on the health sector, with hospitals and medical centers suffering from severe shortages of medicine and essential supplies, and a decline in their ability to perform surgeries and provide chronic treatments. The situation threatens the lives of more than 600,000 civilians, particularly infants facing a severe milk shortage, and the elderly and those with chronic illnesses who are unable to access their medications.

🚨The latest situation in the KOBANİ: According to information we have obtained from our regional sources, today in the Euphrates region, overall we see that the Turkish state is in control. The current siege being imposed on the Euphrates area is directly connected to Turkey — Turkish instructions are at play. The factions of Hamza Division (Emşat) and Sultan Murad are positioned on the front lines, and in every way the SNA (Syrian National Army) is surrounding Kobanê, carrying out looting, killings, displacements, and advancing all kinds of dirty tactics. They are also positioning themselves and deploying heavy weapons in preparation for an attack on Kobanê. They want to implement the same tactic they used in Sheikh Maqsoud — wait for a while and then launch the assault. They are reinforcing the fronts around Kobanê. At the same time, the Turkish state is digging trenches all along its border and making military preparations.
