| 10 |  +2To set the record straight ✅ regarding the reasons why I resigned from GAP:
Some people have been quite critical of me for attacking Rod and resigning from the party. 🇦🇺 As you will see below 👇 the reason I spoke out was to defend myself against Rod’s public attacks (whilst I was his own candidate!) of serious and false allegations involving alleged criminal conduct with the AEC.
As you can see from the interview with Liz Gunn on the 23rd of April (before I resigned from GAP) Rod says untruthfully that in regards to my political messaging, ”he’s authorising it himself, which you can’t do, and he’s received a notice from the AEC today (that) he’s not the registered officer and he’s completely out of control and if he doesn’t remove it there are serious consequences.”.
That was 💯 % FALSE. 😠
As you can see from the screenshots of the emails from the AEC ⬇️, they were generally happy with my authorisations and it was only because I wasn’t authorising ENOUGH messages (FB lives and ads) that they were unhappy.
They never said I couldn’t authorise messages, and they never said I was pretending to be the authorised officer, and they never said I would be facing serious consequences for authorising material- just the opposite in fact! 🤦♂️
This was the end of a long list of undermining actions that Rod had carried out on me (his own candidate) including not providing me with a campaign budget, not giving me any money towards the senate nomination fee, not providing me with any GAP 🇦🇺corflutes or how to vote cards, or any support at all really!
I had to beg him to sign my senate nomination form because he was so disorganised and late to the party, and if I hadn’t pushed him strongly and engaged in a slanging match with him just to get that done; I would have ended up like almost-Victorian senate candidate Rob Fazzino who trusted Rod to get it done but betrayed him by failing to get that done too. 😔
Meanwhile, Rod is an undischarged bankrupt and he is not even eligible to run as a candidate in this election - directly bringing the parrty into disrepute, a clear violation of the GAP Constitution, and something that he left me hung out to dry to answer this unexpected situation when the ABC came asking me questions about it.
Finally, there were the reports from other members directly to my face and online of the party not providing them with content and materials they had paid for. I felt sick to my stomach about this and in the end I could not contain this betrayal to myself and other party members anymore.
Resigning from the party and giving reasons why, was, I believe; the only honourable thing left to do. 🫡
Now I am free to continue my political messaging without Rod trying to (unlawfully) control or defame me! I think this is a very good thing and I thank God for giving me the strength to expose this betrayal for the benefit of any future candidates. 🤲
