🇹🇷🇦🇿 Erdogan, Aliyev discuss regional peace and deeper cooperation Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Bishkek to discuss bilateral ties and regional developments. Erdogan said cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan in energy, infrastructure and transport has become even more important amid the current regional situation. He reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to strengthening ties under the “two states, one nation” principle and said Ankara would continue supporting peace efforts between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Erdogan also said a peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan could “breathe new life into the region.” He invited Aliyev to attend the COP31 climate summit in Antalya this November. 🇨🇳🇳🇵 China sends second humanitarian aid batch to disaster-hit Nepal China has dispatched a second batch of emergency humanitarian aid to Nepal following devastating mudslides, with supplies transported aboard a PLA Air Force Y-20 strategic transport aircraft. The 5.8-ton shipment includes water-purification and lighting equipment, genetic testing equipment and drones. Five experts from Shenzhen also joined the flight to assist with rescue operations. Chinese authorities coordinated the shipment overnight, while Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport activated priority customs and handling procedures to speed up the delivery. The latest assistance adds to China’s ongoing support for Nepal’s disaster response, with the supplies expected to arrive in Kathmandu on Tuesday evening. The figure represents 21.8% of China’s total foreign trade during the period. In 2025, China–ASEAN trade crossed the $1 trillion mark for the first time, reaching $1.05 trillion.
