Hello friends,
Hope you saw the upsc 2025 mains results yesterday.
Congratulations to all all the students who have made it through to the interview stage.
Do work very hard on your communication abilities and prepare the answers for the interview questions like you would prepare for your mains answers.
And students who could not make it through to the list and others also ,
Please consider this,
The usage of materials in many optional subjects is a very big hindrance to your progression.
Do understand the standard of questions asked in mains optional paper is high ( in all the optional subjects)
Students are stuck with dictated notes for these subjects and the marks will plateau and stagnate.
The key to raising above this stagnation is understanding the topics rather than reading notes.
I see so many students who read current affairs notes instead of newspaper and materials instead of books,
Do think about this clearly , a professor who is correcting your paper does not need points because what he or she is looking for is your understanding.
Group 1 services and other exams points from notes may suffice but UPSC civil services is different.
Students repeatedly read some notes year after year. I say this as your brother , please do not do that ,
Build understanding of your topics,
Read books relevant to your syllabus
Keep the pyq in front of your book while studying and keep looking at them every hour to see if what you are reading from the book can answer the question.
Read newspaper everyday and build yourself as a person and officer.
Do not get lost in upsc preparation.
I say this as a person who once was lost in all these notes for optional paper!
Please go in search of understanding!
