People often debate on which option is more entertaining in terms of performance watching: television viewing or attending live. From my standpoint, both television and onstage performances can offer distinctive and unique experiences, therefore, I believe the preference between the two depends on individual priorities and circumstances. Television can, in fact, be a better choice for its viewers for several underlying reasons. For one thing, watching an event or favourite show on TV from the comfort of one’s home brings conveniences, enabling people to avoid some concerns with transportation, location and extreme weather conditions. In addition, this kind of performances can be recorded and watched at a more convenient time if some individuals cannot participate in these events live because of their work or study. Improved viewing on TV is another benefit. Due to the advancements in technology, modern TV sets are offering excellent experience, such as close-ups, replays, multiple camera angles, expert commentary, as well as funny moments behind the scene. Lastly, TV watching can be the best way to enjoy an event for ones who live in remote places without concert halls, theatres, stadiums or other venues. The unavailability of transport and travel expenses might discourage these people from attending in person. However, one should also consider the positives of live performances. Arguably, the most immediate benefit is the atmosphere, I think. Whether it is a music concert, a sports competition or a theatre play, the real atmosphere of these events guarantees overall enjoyment by shared emotions among the audience and collective excitement. Another important advantage is that attendees are able to socialize and create a strong bond with the participants as a result of the interaction, shared applause and encouragement to support. When visiting with family members or other acquaintances, this will create memories for a lifetime and strengthen family ties. Moreover, realism is of great importance for some. To be more precise, they show their doubts towards the performances shown on TV as they are inclined to think TV broadcasts are usually exaggerated by adding some effects and perfections. In this case, they are likely to show preference to attend live shows to feel the spontaneity of the performances of choice. In conclusion, I believe that both mediums provide different types of enjoyment for the reasons mentioned above, so the choice of how to watch a performance is up to the individual. 396 words in-class practice give me your feedback and estimated for the essay! @IELTSwithjustme
