In our country, a person has a Constitutional right to take the 5th Amendment. We are instructed to not draw any inference of guilt when the 5th Amendment is invoked by a witness. As a lawyer, I agree with that legal principle. But I also know from the Holy Bible that he who has nothing to hide, hides nothing. A person who invokes the 5th Amendment has something to hide, even if it is his own testimony. And by taking the 5th Amendment, the witness hides from the perils of cross-examination.
