This morning, I decided to hike my favorite mountain, 인왕산. I got off the main trail and found a trail used by Korean soldiers. There was even a dried-up natural stream pool they built. I met a person taking the trail for the first time. He was a PD for commercials. We chatted, and I continued hiking to the peak, which had a line like a popular bakery. I didn’t stay long and headed to the 숲속쉼터, a hidden gem to visit all four seasons. I sat quietly observing nature in a glass house on top of the mountain. I ran into the same person there again.
We continued down together, chatting about life, escaping work stress, and finding our center. I shared my wellness journey in Korea. He said wellness in Korea is not well-known except for eating healthy, moving, and taking vitamin supplements. I noticed subtle changes since I came here in 2016, but I was just starting my yoga journey. I realized that awareness shifts with focus.
It was a lovely Saturday.
