The Prosecutor General's Office recognized SOTA as an "undesirable organization."
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the materials published by the project
"are nothing more than blatant attempts to destabilize the socio-political situation in Russia, to distort the circumstances that have taken place in the life of our country, to create tension and irritation in society. Such activities, apparently encouraged by the so-called Western inspirers, are aimed at undermining the spiritual and moral foundations of Russian society."
The Prosecutor General's Office also claims that the leadership of SOTA, whose members are citizens of Western countries and their residents,
acts on the instructions of foreign non-governmental organizations SIA TV Rain and The Insider (Latvia).
In response to this, the editorial office of Sota
made a statement:
"Sota has nothing to do with Dozhd, Insider and unknown to us "Western curators". Of course, we are opponents of the war and the Putin regime and adhere to objective journalistic standards in our work. This work will continue. The SOTA project covers the Russian political agenda, publishes reports, news and video evidence of what is happening in Russia and in the war with Ukraine."
Earlier, the SOTA project split into two: the founders
said that their colleagues, as a result of the conflict, appropriated the management of the channel for themselves, so SOTA Vision appeared in the russian media space (in addition to SOTA) - its employees
claim that they are the original project and clarify that the Prosecutor General's Office recognized the
"SOTA media project" as an
"undesirable organization".
Further the Ukrainian Center for the
Study of the Security Environment "Prometheus" was recognized as an
"undesirable organization".
