Hamas' mouthpiece website has responded to U.S President Biden's recent statement about a temporary ceasefire proposal that he said was put forward and approved by Israel. The post appears to be an acknowledgment of the proposal, while reiterating their goals. "The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas views positively what was included in US President Joe Biden’s speech today, 05/31/2024, in his call for a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of the occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, reconstruction, and an exchange of prisoners. We consider this American position and the conviction that has been established on the regional and international scene The necessity of putting an end to the war on Gaza is the result of the legendary steadfastness of our struggling people and their valiant resistance. The movement affirms its position of readiness to deal positively and constructively with any proposal based on a permanent ceasefire, complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, reconstruction, the return of the displaced to all their places of residence, and the completion of a serious prisoner exchange deal if the occupation declares its explicit commitment to that."

Apparently It was initially Biden’s outline of the whole deal that has been sent to Israeli authorities, which the spokesman said that the characteristics of the deal could change by Israel. So basically it’s all shady and in gray we will get confirmation sooner or later, I will keep you updated.

Update: The Times of Israel reported that Biden was the one who laid out the current proposal that was greenlit, and that while the Israeli government has acknowledged a proposal, it was not clarified whether it was the same in exact detail as what Biden had presented since the statement didn't refer to Biden's speech at all. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said after the statement by Biden, “The Israeli government is united in the desire to return our hostages as soon as possible and is working to achieve this goal. Therefore, the prime minister authorized the negotiating team to present an outline for achieving this goal while insisting that the war will not end until all of its goals are achieved, including the return of all our hostages and the elimination of Hamas’ military and governmental capabilities. The exact outline proposed by Israel, including the conditional transition from stage to stage, allows Israel to maintain these principles.” Asked by the TOI if "the deal described by Netanyahu’s office is the same one Biden laid out in his speech, a senior administration official briefing reporters avoids answering directly. 'I have no doubt that the deal will be characterized by Israel and will be characterized by Hamas, but we know what’s in the deal. We know what the expectations are,' the official says. 'Often these deals are characterized by those who might not want to see the deal,' the official says earlier on in the briefing."

Recently a POW swap has happened between Russia and Ukraine. Later on Ukrainian MOD uploaded these two photos which shows how inhumane the Russian military treats the POWs, almost in same level with the concentration camps or Gulag style of detention which can indicate lack of accountability, and medical treatments which followed by malnutrition conditions.

After more than nine hours of deliberations over two days, the Manhattan jury found Trump guilty of falsifying business records in the case stemming from a hush money payment to porn actor Stormy Daniels during his 2016 presidential campaign. Trump angrily denounced the trial as a “disgrace,” telling reporters he’s an “innocent man.” The charge of falsifying business records is a Class E felony in New York, the lowest tier of felony charges in the state. It is punishable by up to four years in prison, though the punishment would ultimately be up to the judge, and there’s no guarantee he would give Trump time behind bars. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg declined to say whether prosecutors would seek prison time. Trump faces the threat of more serious prison time in the three other cases he’s facing, but those cases have gotten bogged down by appeals and other legal fights, so it remains unclear whether any of them will go to trial before the November election.–AP
