How the development of the guerrillas is changing the war
Despite limited resources, the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrillas have embraced technological advancements to enhance their capabilities, especially in air defense and drone warfare.
NATO's support has bolstered the Turkish state's technological arsenal, but the guerrillas' innovative use of technology has created an equalizing effect on the battlefield. The Kurdish freedom guerrillas' ability to adapt and innovate has led to significant victories, putting the Turkish occupation forces in a tactical bind.
Explore how these developments are changing the balance on the battlefield and how the guerrilla in Southern Kurdistan is resisting against NATO’s second largest army. Read more on Riseup4Rojava:

🚩 Today we celebrate the beginning of the 13th year of the Rojava Revolution!
The Rojava Revolution was built on the blood of thousands of martyrs, incessant work of popular organization and a lot of effort to overcome limitations caused by embargoes and attacks by the fascist Turkish State.
Even with all these difficulties, the Revolution continues to build a democratic future based on Abdullah Öcalan's philosophy! The Rojava Revolution is an example of a democratic, ecological society and, first of all, the liberation of women!

🔴 Turkey’s escalation in Northern Iraq: Cross-border operation or occupation?
Without any public attention Southern Kurdistan/Northern Iraq has turned into an allout warzone with Turkey deploying thousands of troops, armoured vehicles and heavy equipment into the region.
Between the Turkish ruling party AKP-MHP and its goal of occupying further parts of Kurdistan and expanding Turkey's territories into Syria and Iraq, there are the guerrillas of the Kurdish freedom movements, who vehemently resist these plans.
The Turkish invasion into Southern Kurdistan/Northern Iraq needs to be made public, denounced and protested!

🔴 Update War in South Kurdistan 15.07.24
Yesterday and last night, the bombardments by the Turkish army continued. Especially the villages in the Metina region and around the city of Amediye are affected by heavy bombardments.
During the night, large-scale troop and material relocations were again registered in the city. It is currently unclear where the troops have been moved to.
In conversations, local residents are now comparing Turkey's invasion to Saddam Hussein's Anfal operation, in which tens of thousands of Kurds were killed and displaced in the 1980s.
There is hardly any international protest against the invasion. However, individual Iraqi politicians and political groups are now openly opposing the invasion and demanding the withdrawal of Turkish troops.

Evaluation of the Turkish Offensive and Guerrilla Resistance in South Kurdistan
Since June 15, the Turkish Army has expanded its operations in the guerrilla regions of northern Iraq and launched a new offensive in South Kurdistan. Starting from June 15, hundreds of armored vehicles, tanks, troop carriers, thousands of soldiers, and other heavy equipment were moved across the border into northern Iraq and stationed in the guerrilla areas. Between June 22 and June 25 alone, local sources reported that over 300 armored vehicles crossed the border and advanced into the region. More than a thousand soldiers were reportedly deployed during these days, adding to the already tens of thousands of soldiers stationed in the area.

🔴 Update: War in Kurdistan (12.07.)
The Turkish army is continuing its occupation operation in South Kurdistan/Northern Iraq.
Attacks are currently concentrated on the Zap and Metina regions, as well as on the northern and western foothills of the Gare mountain range. Various villages or their surroundings have been bombed in the last 24 hours, and as in the last few days, fires have broken out as a result of the bombardments.
Two civilians were wounded during bombardments in the Bradost region.
The bombings are probably aimed at displacing the remaining local population.
In the past few nights, there have also been heavy attacks on guerrilla positions and airborne operations by the Turkish army, with at least one Turkish army helicopter reportedly being shot down.
As a result of a Turkish drone attack on a car belonging to the Yezidi radio station Çira FM, journalist Murat Mîrza Ibrahim succumbed to his injuries during an operation today.

🔴 ISIS MERCENARIES INVADE KURDISTAN 🔴
300 ISIS militants are fighting with the Turkish army in Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI)
Sepi Media published names and photos of 416 former ISIS members, reportedly trained by Turkish forces in Efrîn, Kurdish occupied city in Rojava (North Syria).
1 week ago, the spokesperson of the PUK revealed that more than 300 ISIS mercenaries were participating to the invasions’ operation, alongside the Turkey’s forces.
If the Turkish invasion of Kurdistan is not stopped, an ISIS revival, new genocides and the annexation of the region by Turkey is very possible.

What is the mentality underlying Turkish soccer player Merih Demiral's wolve salute at the Euro2024?
The Turkish national player Demirel Merih cheered after his goal in the European Championship match against Austria with the "wolf salute", which is associated with the Turkish right-wing extremist group "Grey Wolves".
In social media, Turkish fascists tried to disguise the symbol as a harmless part of Turkish tradition. But behind the symbolism however, there is an ideology that millions have fallen victim to in the course of history.
Who are they grey wolves?

🔴WHO ARE THE GREY WOLVES?🔴
Turkish national team football player Merih Demiral made the ‘wolf salute’, symbolic of the Turkish ultra-nationalist ‘Grey Wolves’, after scoring in a European Cup match between Turkey and Austria on the 2nd of July.
This gesture has been condemned by many political and civil society figures as a symbol of racism and hate. Even the German interior minister Nancy Faeser denounced firmly this act.
But who are the Grey Wolves behind this sign?

Fascist gesture during Turkey's win against Austria
During Turkey's 2:1 victory against Austria in the quarter-finals yesterday, two-time goalscorer Demiral gave the wolf salute to celebrate the goal. The wolf salute is a symbol of the Grey Wolves, a Turkish fascist organization.
Demiral does not seem to be aware of any guilt. In an interview, he said that he hoped there would be more opportunities to show the salute.
In the evening, he posted a picture of the action on X with the caption: "Happy is he who calls himself a Turk". A slogan under which ethnic minorities in Turkey are still oppressed by the state and right-wing extremists.
With his gesture, Demiral also appears to be referring to the current anti-Syrian pogroms in Turkey, in which Syrian refugees have been attacked in dozens of cities in Turkey in recent days and at least two people have been killed. The wolf salute can also be seen again and again during these pogroms.

Air strikes and ISIS mercenaries stationed in South Kurdistan
The Turkish army has once again carried out heavy airstrikes in northern Iraq. Yesterday evening, local sources reported bombings, artillery attacks and attacks by combat helicopters on the Medya defense areas. Movements of ground troops were also reported. Turkish tanks had advanced as far as the city center of Amêdiyê. Even in the Penjwen region, over 200 kilometers from the Turkish border, air strikes are said to have taken place.
In the afternoon, there was also a suspected Turkish army drone attack on a car in the city of Suleymania. No casualties have been reported so far.
According to a statement by the Kurdistan Communities of Kurdistan (KCK), ISIS fighters are among the troops brought into the region by Turkey. Turkey had already deployed Syrian mercenaries, including IS fighters, in the invasions of northern Iraq in the past.

🔴 #Irak/Southern #Kurdistan: Turkish Invasion continues
300 Tanks and 15,000 Turkish soldiers crossed the border to Irak and South Kurdistan in the last days.
In the last months, Erdogan and the AKP government of Turkey claimed that they will destroy the PKK (The Kurdistan’s Worker Party) before the summer. To reach their aim Ankara and the KDP (local Kurdish party who actively collaborates with Turkey) recently held multiple meetings in order to win support in their military offensive against the guerrilla positions in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
“The danger is that the Turkish occupation is permanent and will eventually turn into an annexation.” KCK’s foreign relations committee said in a recent statement.

Resentment of people in occupied areas against Turkish occupation
Since this afternoon, the occupied cities of Bab, Azaz and Afrin have been witnessing protests against the Turkish presence in response to racist practices against Syrians, in particular the attack on Syrian families last Sunday in Kayseri, and the protest against the recent rapprochement between Ankara and Damascus.
According to sources, protesters blocked the main road in al-Bab in front of a number of Turkish trucks and attacked and damaged them, as shown in videos on social media.
Other footage also showed protesters bringing down the Turkish flag from a Turkish “Civil Registry Building” in Azaz, and protesters expelling employees of the Turkish post office in the occupied town of Rajo.
In Afrin, mercenary activists reported that dozens of demonstrators demanding the departure of the Turkish governor from the city were fired upon, in front of the “Seraya” building and the city’s municipality, without information about casualties.

URGENT PRESS RELEASE
Turkish occupation escalates long-term war with regional and global implications
The recent escalation of Turkey’s military presence in Iraqi Kurdistan under the pretext of fighting PKK guerrillas is a blatant violation of Iraqi sovereignty and a threat to regional stability. Turkey’s deployment of tanks, soldiers and checkpoints deep inside Iraqi Kurdish territory is a clear attempt to occupy Iraqi Kurdistan. This will lead to an escalation of the long-term war with regional and global implications.
The aggressive actions of the Turkish military, including setting up checkpoints, interrogating road users, and emptying villages, demonstrates a de facto occupation of the region that undermines the sovereignty of Iraq and the Kurdish people. The reported deployment of hundreds of tanks and armored vehicles – along with the establishment of military bases – raises serious concerns about Turkey’s intentions in the region.

Northern Kurdistan (Turkey): Major fire destroys 1000 hectares of agriculture
Yesterday at 7 p.m. a fire broke out in fields between the provinces of Amed (Turkish: Diyarbakir) and Mêrdîn (Mardin). The flames quickly spread across agricultural land. According to the fire department, around 1000 hectares burned down and countless farm animals died.
The fire was caused by sparks coming from a dilapidated electricity pylon, according to the fire department. According to residents, the nearby, mostly Kurdish villages had been calling on the state-owned electricity company to replace the power lines for years - to no avail.
The mayors of the affected districts accuse the Turkish authorities of doing nothing about the fire for hours. It was only at 2 a.m. and at dawn that fire-fighting helicopters are said to have been deployed for the first time. At least four men between the ages of 17 and 20 died trying to extinguish the fire on their own, and 44 people were injured.

We congratulate our partners in the International Coalition on the killing of Osama Mohamed Ibrahim al-Janabi, an ISIS terrorist who was targeted during an airstrike, this terrorist was based in Afrin area that is being occupied by Turkey.
The so called interim government that is supported by Turkey claimed that this ISIS terrorist was a civilian and has been killed by SDF bombing, this once again clearly reveals the scale of the deliberate misinformation for groups that work for Turkey from Syria, this is an attempt to protect ISIS leadership and present them as a civilian.
The Turkish-occupied areas remain a safe place for ISIS leaders, the presence Osama al-Janabi in a settlement in Afrin shows the extent of Turkey's involvement in supporting terrorism.
