Russia's & Iran's stance on Turkish plans not fully clear: Iran voiced concerns & is probably worried about the Shiite Settlements close to the Tel-Rifaat frontline. #Russia, known to be pragmatic in foreign policy can be expected to open airspace for TR if the price is right. On July 19th Erdogan and Turkish delegation will visit Tehran to address Iran's concerns and gain support for Turkish incursion. If Russia gives green light & Turkey can win over Iran the invasion could start shortly after July 19th. Turkey has before chosen dates with historical meaning for attacks. On July 19 the people in Rojava & all around the world will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Revolution. While Turkey is removing the last obstacles to invasion, we are also preparing to give an appropriate response to the attacks of Turkish fascism. The attacks on Rojava are continuing on high frequency in the last days. Especially villages in the Shehba region were targeted today. After state of emergency was declared by highest bodie of the Autonomous Administration the last preparations to confront Turkish invasion are taken by military forces, civil society organizations and local defense structures. According to a Statement by #SDF's Northern Democratic Forces Damascus and the Autonomous Administration came to the agreement to defend the borders against Turkish attacks together. For this the implementation of a joint operation room was announced to coordinate the defense on the frontline from #TelRifaat to #Kobane. This was accompanied by Syrian army reinforcing troops north of Aleppo and around Kobane. The events on the ground in the coming weeks will show how committed the Syrian army is to confront the Turkish aggression. In earlier Turkish incursions they have not lived up to their responsibilities.

A Turkish delegation will visit Iran on July 19th. It can be expected that a discussion of Turkish invasion plans will be on the agenda for the meeting. The date also marks the 10th anniversary of the Revolution in Rojava. The threat level for Turkish incursion in North- & Eastern Syria remains high and latest troop movements indicate that we are getting closer to Day X. We will keep you updated throughout the next days.

UPDATE July 7th On July 6th the Autonomous Administration of North- & Eastern Syria (AANES) declared a full state of emergency on the entire region. Bodies, committees and Institutions of AANES are hold to prepare of contingency plans to deal with threats and challenges. This comes after weeks of increasing attacks by Turkish forces and their Islamist mercenaries on designated areas for announced incursion. Meanwhile troop deployments by SNA in the occupied areas north of Tel Rifaat were documented. Yesterday Turkish troop convey entered the occupied areas through the Bab al-Salama and al-Rai border crossing. Russia and the Damascus regime reinforced troops around Kobane and at Qamişlo airport. Turkish delegation will visit Iran on July 19th to discuss Turkish plans. The date also marks the 10th anniversary of the Revolution in Rojava. The threat level for Turkish incursion in North- & Eastern Syria remains high. We will keep you updated throughout the next days.

Update on the latest developements in Rojava / North- & Eastern Syria: Astana Talks, Turkey executing Kurdish politician in Southern Kurdistan & Jihadi infighting in occupied territories

What happenend Last Week: Turkey waiting for greenlight for invasion in Rojava/Northern Syria & executing Kurdish politician in Southern Kurdistan, Jihadi infighting in occupied territories Diplomats from both Russia and Iran denied green lighting further invasion by Turkey in North- & Eastern Syria during the June 15-16 meeting of the so called Astana process. The statements are in line with what could be observed on the ground recently: Since Turkey announced another incursion into northern Syria in May, movements on the ground indicated that Russia and Iran are eager to protect regime-held areas near targets designated by Turkey for further incursion. Russian forces had increased air patrols in Qamişlo, Tel Temir & along the front lines on M4 line, placed anti-air craft systems at Heseke airport & deployed heavy weapons at base nearby. Among others, Iran-backed militias reinforced forces east of Aleppo, near Tel Rifaat. The "Astana Process" talks were initiated in 2016 by Russia, Iran, Turkey, and the Syrian "opposition." However, the autonomous administration of northern and eastern Syria was never invited, unlike numerous jihadist militias that are now part of the Turkish-controlled SNA.

DAY X: Turkish Invasion imminent R4R-Evaluation on the current developments regarding an upcoming Turkish Invasion We call on all democrats, antifascists, feminists, the ecological movement and anti-war activists to prepare themselves for Day X; the day of a invasion by Turkey on Rojava and the Autonomous Administration of North- and Eastern Syria.
