The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NEET (UG) 2026 results 📢 for admission to undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH, and allied programs 🩺🦷. Approximately 11.23 lakh candidates qualified🎉 out of nearly 20 lakh applicants.☝🏻
🛑 The exam was conducted in 13 languages 🌍 across various cities in India and abroad ✈️.
🟪 Over 50% of the qualified candidates are women🧑🏻⚕️, and top performers are generally between 17 and 29 years old. 🎓🎊

⚠️🔴 Like Many State run Institutes of various States, AIIMS also now introduced MBBS Course Discontinuation Penalty Bond system from A.Y 2026-27 Onwards. Previously this system already exist under "B.sc Nursing/Allied Health Care Science(Paramedical)/M.sc Nursing Courses excluding MBBS Course" with existing Penalty amount Rs. 5000 Only. From A.Y 2026-27 Onwards, this "Course Discontinuation Penalty Bond system" [ Resign from institute by candidate after taking admission in the middle of course/incomplete of degree ] applied to all the UG Courses of AIIMS including MBBS also with a revised charge payable. ✳️ Candidate have to pay Rs. 50,000 for any UG Courses as mandatory Discontinuation Penalty Institute Bond for AIIMS Institutes.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare will examine the conduct of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) and the functioning of health regulatory bodies during its meeting on July 16. Chaired by Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav, the committee will discuss the organisational structure, mandate and functioning of regulatory institutions under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, including issues related to NEET under the NMC Act, 2019.

That's roughly 18 hours PER DAY, for a MONTH!
This RTI response from the Department of Pediatrics, AIIMS Nagpur shows Junior Residents being assigned 540 duty hours per month.
How can anyone expect safe, error-free patient care from doctors pushed to this extent ? Sleep deprivation isn’t dedication - it’s a serious patient safety risk and a human rights issue. And it affects both the patient and the doctor at the same time.
Healthcare cannot run on the exploitation of young doctors.
The Department of Pediatrics at AIIMS Nagpur must explain how such duty hours are justified.
