ከጥቂት ወራት በፊት፣ በ UN Trust Fund (UNVTF) ድጋፍ 50 ከስደት ተመላሽ እህቶቻችንን በሶስት የሙያ ዘርፎች ማሰልጠን መጀመራችንን አብስረን ነበር። ዛሬ ደግሞ የድካማቸውን ፍሬ አይተናል!
እነዚህ ጠንካራ ሴቶች በልብስ ስፌት፣ በፀጉር ስራ እና በምግብ ዝግጅት የ3 ወር ጥልቅ ስልጠናቸውን በስኬት አጠናቀው ተመርቀዋል። ይህ የምረቃ በዓል የሙያ ማረጋገጫ ብቻ ሳይሆን፤ ከስደት እና ከስቃይ በኋላ አዲስ ህይወት፣ አዲስ ክብር እና አዲስ ተስፋ የመጀመራቸው ብሩህ ማሳያ ነው።
በባለታሪኮች በሚመራው (Survivor-led) የካስማ የስነ-ልቦና ድጋፍ ታግዘው፣ ዛሬ በሙሉ በራስ መተማመን ወደ ስራ አለም ለመቀላቀል ዝግጁ ናቸው።

Congratulations! From Training to the Workforce: 50 Heroic Women Graduated! 🎓✨
A few months ago, we announced the start of a vocational training program for 50 returnee women, generously supported by the UN Trust Fund (UNVTF). Today, we celebrate the fruit of their hard work!
These resilient women have successfully completed their 3-month intensive training in Garment Making, Hairdressing, and Culinary Arts. This graduation is more than just a certificate; it is a powerful symbol of new beginnings, restored dignity, and lasting hope after the hardships of migration.
Empowered by Kasma's survivor-led psychosocial support alongside their technical training, they are now ready to enter the workforce with confidence.
A heartfelt thank you to UNVTF, our dedicated trainers, and the entire Kasma family for making this possible. We wish our graduates a bright and successful future! ❤️

ዛሬ፣ የካስማ በጎ አድራጎት ድርጅት (Kasma Charity Organization) ከ የካ ክፍለ ከተማ አስተዳደር ጋር በመተባበር፣ "Safe & Strong: Holistic Reintegration for Returnee Survivors" ፕሮጀክት አካል የሆነ ወሳኝ የማህበረሰብ የግንዛቤ ማስጨበጫ መድረክ አካሂዷል።
የውይይታችን ርዕስ፡ "የህገ-ወጥ የሰዎች ዝውውር እና ስደተኞችን በህገ-ወጥ መንገድ ድንበር ማሻገር ወንጀሎች ክብደት እና የህግ ማዕቀፋቸው" የሚል ነበር።
በመድረኩ ላይ ከህግ አስከባሪ አካላት እና ከባለሙያዎች ጋር በመሆን፣ ማህበረሰቡ ማወቅ ስላለበት አስደንጋጭ እውነታዎች በስፋት ተነጋግረናል፡
⚠️ 1. 3ቱ የሞት መንገዶች (The Deadly Routes):
ህገ-ወጥ ስደት ወደተሻለ ህይወት ሳይሆን ወደ ሞት የሚወስድ መንገድ መሆኑን ተወያይተናል።
የምስራቁ መስመር (ጅቡቲ/የመን/ሳዑዲ)፡ በበረሃ ጥማት፣ በጠለፋ እና በከባድ ብዝበዛ የታጀበ።
የደቡቡ መስመር (ኬንያ/ደቡብ አፍሪካ)፡ በጭነት ኮንቴነሮች ውስጥ በታፍኖ በማለቅ እና በእስር የሚጠናቀቅ።
የሰሜኑ መስመር (ሱዳን/ሊቢያ/አውሮፓ)፡ በበረሃ እና በሜዲትራኒያን ባህር ስፍር ቁጥር የሌላቸው ወገኖቻችንን የዋጠ አደገኛ ጉዞ።
⚠️ 2. የስደቱ መራራ እውነት - የሰውነት አካል ንግድ (Organ Trafficking):
አዘዋዋሪዎች የሚፈልጉት የሰዎችን ጉልበት ብቻ አይደለም። በመድረኩ ላይ እንደተገለጸው፣ ስደተኞች ከታፈኑ በኋላ የሰውነት አካላቸው (ኩላሊት፣ ጉበት) ተወስዶ ለሽያጭ የሚቀርብበት አሰቃቂ ወንጀል እየተፈጸመ መሆኑን አብራርተናል።
⚠️ 3. "ህጋዊ" የሚመስሉ ወጥመዶች፡
በህጋዊ ኤጀንሲ ስም ሰዎችን ልከው፣ መዳረሻ ሀገር ላይ ሲደርሱ ድጋፍ የሚነፍጉ እና ለብዝበዛ የሚያጋልጡ አሰራሮች ላይ ማህበረሰቡ ንቁ መሆን እንዳለበት ተመላክቷል።
⚖️ 4. የህግ ማዕቀፍ እና ቅጣት (አዋጅ 1178/2012):
የፖሊስ ተወካዮች እንዳብራሩት፣ "ህጉን አላውቅም" ማለት ከቅጣት አያድንም። አዘዋዋሪዎች፣ ደላሎች፣ አጓጓዦች፣ አልፎም ለጉዞው ገንዘብ የሚያዋጡ አካላት ሁሉ በህግ ፊት ወንጀለኞች ናቸው። ቅጣቱም ከ15 ዓመት ጽኑ እስራት እስከ እድሜ ልክ እና የሞት ቅጣት (ተጎጂው ከሞተ) የሚደርስ ነው።
የእኛ ጥሪ
ይህንን ወንጀል ማስቆም የመንግስት እና የፖሊስ ሀላፊነት ብቻ አይደለም። ቤተሰብ፣ የሀይማኖት አባቶች፣ የእድር መሪዎች፣ ትምህርት ቤቶች፣ እና እያንዳንዱ ዜጋ ይህንን የሞት ንግድ በመከላከል፣ በማስተማር እና በማጋለጥ የድርሻውን መወጣት አለበት።
ለዚህ ስኬታማ መድረክ ለየካ ክፍለ ከተማ አስተዳደር፣ ለህግ አስከባሪ አካላት፣ እና ለተሳተፋችሁ የማህበረሰብ ክፍሎች በሙሉ ከልብ እናመሰግናለን። የጀመርነውን የለውጥ ስራ አጠናክረን እንቀጥላለን!
Tackling Human Trafficking at its Roots: A Deep Dive with Our Community! 🛑
Today, Kasma Charity Organization, in partnership with the Yeka Sub-City Administration, held a critical community awareness and advocacy forum under our project: "Safe & Strong: Holistic Reintegration for Returnee Survivors."
The focus of our session: "The Seriousness of Human Trafficking and Migration Smuggling Crimes and Their Legal Framework."
Alongside law enforcement and subject matter experts, we engaged the community in a detailed discussion about the horrifying realities that many are unaware of:
⚠️ 1. The Three Deadly Routes:
We highlighted that irregular migration is rarely a path to a better life; it is often a path to death.
The Eastern Route (Djibouti/Yemen/Saudi Arabia): Marked by death from thirst in deserts, kidnapping for ransom, and severe abuse.
The Southern Route (Kenya/South Africa): Tragically known for migrants suffocating inside shipping containers and facing harsh imprisonment.
The Northern Route (Sudan/Libya/Europe): The deadliest journey, claiming countless lives in the Sahara Desert and the Mediterranean Sea.
⚠️ 2. The Dark Reality of Organ Trafficking:
Traffickers are not only exploiting labor. The session shed light on the gruesome reality of migrants being kidnapped, killed, and their organs (kidneys, livers) harvested for the black market.
⚠️ 3. The Trap of "Legal" Agencies:
We warned the community about agencies that send individuals "legally" but abandon them upon arrival, leaving them completely vulnerable to exploitation and modern slavery without any protection.
⚖️ 4. The Legal Framework & Consequences (Proclamation 1178/2012):
Police representatives clearly outlined that ignorance of the law is no excuse. The entire chain—recruiters, transporters, facilitators, and even those who fund the journeys—are criminals under Ethiopian law. Punishments are severe, ranging from 15 years to life imprisonment, and up to the death penalty if the victim loses their life.
Ending this crime is not solely the responsibility of the government or police. It requires a united front. Families, religious leaders, community associations (Iddirs), schools, and every citizen must play their part in educating, preventing, and reporting these crimes.

Today, Kasma Charity Organization is deeply honored to receive the prestigious Media Award from the International Organization for Migration (IOM - UN Migration) as part of the CREATE Project.
We were recognized for our cinematic documentary, “መንገድ ከመውጣቱ በፊት” (Before the Journey), developed under the theme "From Risk to Choice - Irregular Migration, Trafficking, Smuggling, and Local Alternatives."
We extend our deepest gratitude to IOM Ethiopia for this recognition. We also thank the experts from the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs, and the Ministry of Labor and Skills who contributed their vital insights.
This award is not just a trophy; it is a catalyst. It strengthens Kasma’s commitment to using powerful, dignified media to protect human rights and provide "Informed Choices" for potential migrants across Ethiopia.

| 10 | KASMA Charity Organization successfully held its Board Meeting at the KASMA office, bringing together board members and leadership to reflect on the organization’s progress and strengthen its direction for the years ahead.
During the meeting, key discussions and decisions included:
* Review of KASMA’s 2025 operational performance and the 2026 annual work plan
* Welcoming newly appointed Board Members to the KASMA family
* Appointment of the new Board Chairwoman and Deputy Chairperson
* Approval of KASMA’s Travel Policy, Safeguarding Policy, and Five-Year Revenue Generation Strategy
* Appointment of the Board Safeguarding Focal Person
The meeting also served as a moment of appreciation and transition. KASMA extended sincere gratitude to the former Deputy Board Chairman for his valuable service, commitment, and contribution to the organization’s mission.
All board members reaffirmed their commitment to supporting KASMA’s vision and strengthening survivor-led efforts to combat human trafficking, support survivors, and promote safe migration in Ethiopia.

ከችግር የተረፍን ባለታሪኮች እና የመብት ተሟጋቾች እንደመሆናችን፣ ተጋላጭ የሆኑ ሰዎች በዜግነታቸው ወይም በስደት ታሪካቸው ምክንያት ሰብአዊ ክብራቸው ሲገፈፍ የሚፈጠረውን ጥልቅ ህመም በሚገባ እንረዳለን። ብዙ ስደተኞች ከድህነት፣ ከሰው ዝውውር፣ ከግጭት፣ ከብዝበዛ እና ከከባድ መከራ ያመለጡ ናቸው። በሌላ የአፍሪካ ሀገር ውስጥ ዳግም ጥቃት እና ፍርሃት ሊገጥማቸው አይገባም።
የአፍሪካ ጥንካሬ ያለው በአንድነቷ፣ በርህራሄዋ እና በጋራ ሰብአዊነቷ እንጂ በመከፋፈል እና በጥላቻ አይደለም።
የሚከተሉትን ጥሪዎች እናቀርባለን፡
• የስደተኞች እና የተጎዱ ማህበረሰቦች ደህንነት በአስቸኳይ እንዲረጋገጥ፤
• ለጥላቻ እና ለጥቃት ድርጊቶች ፈጻሚዎች ተጠያቂነት እንዲሰፍን፤
• ጠንካራ አፍሪካዊ አብሮነት እና ሰላማዊ አብሮ መኖር እንዲጎለብት፤
• የእያንዳንዱ ስደተኛ እና ተፈናቃይ ክብር እና መብት እንዲጠበቅ።
መከራን በምርጫው የሚቀበል የለም። ህልውናውን ለማትረፍ እና የተሻለ እድል ፍለጋ ለሚጓዝ ሰው ጥቃት አይገባውም።
ከስደተኞች፣ ባለታሪኮች፣ ተፈናቃዮች እና በዚህ የጥላቻ ጥቃት ከተጎዱ ማህበረሰቦች ሁሉ ጎን እንቆማለን።
በስደተኞች ላይ የሚሰነዘር ጥቃት በአፍሪካ አንድነት ላይ የተሰነዘረ ጥቃት ነው!
Statement as an Executive Member of the African Survivor Coalition (ASC)
As an Executive Member of the African Survivor Coalition, I strongly condemn the xenophobic attacks and violence targeting migrants and foreign nationals in South Africa.
As survivors and advocates, we understand the deep pain caused when vulnerable people are treated as less human because of their nationality or migration status. Many migrants have already escaped poverty, trafficking, conflict, exploitation, and hardship. They should never face violence and fear in another African country.
Africa’s strength is in its unity, compassion, and shared humanity not division and hatred.
We call for:
• Immediate protection of migrants and affected communities.
• Accountability for acts of violence and hate.
• Stronger African solidarity and peaceful coexistence.
• Respect for the dignity and rights of every migrant and refugee.
No one chooses suffering. No one deserves violence for seeking survival and opportunity.
We stand with migrants, survivors, refugees, and all communities affected by xenophobia.
An attack on migrants is an attack on African unity itself.

የካስማ በጎ አድራጎት ድርጅት በደቡብ አፍሪካ ውስጥ በስደተኞች እና በውጭ ዜጎች ላይ እየደረሰ ያለውን የጥላቻ ጥቃት (Xenophobic attacks) በጥብቅ ያወግዛል። ማንም የሰው ልጅ በዜግነቱ፣ በስደት ታሪኩ ወይም በመጣበት ዳራ ምክንያት ጥቃት፣ መድልዎ፣ ፍርሃት ወይም ውርደት ሊደርስበት አይገባም።
ከስደት ተመላሾች እና ከሰው ዝውውር የተረፉ ወገኖችን እንደሚያገለግል በባለታሪኮች የሚመራ (Survivor-led) ድርጅት፣ ጥላቻ፣ መገለል፣ ብዝበዛ እና ጥቃት በተጋላጭ የማህበረሰብ ክፍሎች ላይ የሚያስከትለውን አሳዛኝ እና አሳማሚ መዘዝ በቅርበት አይተናል። እንዲህ አይነት ኢ-ፍትሃዊ ድርጊቶች ሲፈጸሙ ዝምታን መምረጥ፣ ስቃይን ከማባባስ እና ጥቃትን እንደተለመደ ነገር አድርጎ ከመውሰድ ውጪ ሌላ ትርጉም የለውም።
አፍሪካ ከየትም ይምጡ ከየት፣ የሁሉንም ሰዎች አንድነት፣ ክብር፣ ሰብአዊነት እና ደህንነት ልታስጠብቅ ይገባል። ስደተኞች ወንጀለኞች አይደሉም። እነሱ ደህንነትን፣ የተሻለ እድልን እና ብሩህ የነገ ህይወትን የሚፈልጉ የሰው ልጆች፣ ሰራተኞች፣ እናቶች፣ አባቶች፣ ወጣቶች እና ከብዙ ፈተና የተረፉ ባለታሪኮች ናቸው።
በመሆኑም የሚከተለውን ጥሪያችንን እናቀርባለን፡-
• የሚመለከታቸው የመንግስት አካላት የሁሉንም ስደተኞች ደህንነት እና ጥበቃ እንዲያረጋግጡ እንዲሁም የጥቃቱ ፈጻሚዎችን በህግ ተጠያቂ እንዲያደርጉ፤
• ማህበረሰቡ የጥላቻ ንግግሮችን፣ ጥቃትን እና መድልዎን በጽኑ እንዲያወግዝ፤
• የአፍሪካ መሪዎች እና ተቋማት በአህጉሪቱ ውስጥ አብሮነትን እና በሰላም አብሮ የመኖር እሴትን እንዲያጠናክሩ።
በስደተኞች ላይ የሚደረግ ጥቃት በሰብአዊነት ላይ የሚደረግ ጥቃት ነው! ካስማ በዚህ ፈታኝ ጊዜ ጥቃት ከደረሰባቸው ስደተኞች እና ማህበረሰቦች ጎን በጽኑ ይቆማል።
Statement by KASMA Charity Organization
KASMA Charity Organization strongly condemns the ongoing xenophobic violence and attacks against migrants and foreign nationals in South Africa. No human being should face violence, discrimination, fear, or humiliation because of their nationality, migration status, or background.
As a survivor-led organization working with returnee migrants and survivors of human trafficking, we have witnessed the painful consequences of hate, exclusion, exploitation, and violence against vulnerable people. Silence in the face of such injustice only deepens suffering and normalizes abuse.
Africa must stand for unity, dignity, humanity, and protection of all people regardless of where they come from. Migrants are not criminals. They are human beings, workers, mothers, fathers, youth, and survivors searching for safety, opportunity, and a better future.
We call upon:
• Authorities to ensure the safety and protection of all migrants and hold perpetrators accountable.
• Communities to reject hate speech, violence, and discrimination.
• African leaders and institutions to strengthen solidarity and peaceful coexistence across the continent.
Violence against migrants is violence against humanity. KASMA stands in solidarity with all affected migrants and communities during this difficult time.

ካስማ በጎ አድራጎት ድርጅት፣ ከተባበሩት መንግስታት የትረስት ፈንድ (UN Trust Fund) ባገኘው ድጋፍ፣ 50 ከስደት ተመላሽ ሴቶችን በሶስት ቁልፍ የሙያ ዘርፎች (በልብስ ስፌት፣ ፀጉር ስራ እና ምግብ ዝግጅት) እያሰለጠነ ይገኛል።
ነገር ግን ስልጠናችን በሙያ ብቻ የተገደበ አይደለም! ተመላሽ እህቶቻችን "ምንም የሌላቸው" ሳይሆኑ፣ ጠንካራ የህይወት ልምድ እና እውቀት ያላቸው ጀግኖች ናቸው። ለዚህም ነው ከሙያ ስልጠናው ጎን ለጎን፣ በባለታሪኮች የሚመራ የአቻ ለአቻ ድጋፍ (Peer Support) የምንሰጠው። ይህ ጥምረት ወደ ስራ አለም በሙሉ በራስ መተማመን እንዲገቡ ያደርጋቸዋል።
ከራሳቸው አልፈው ለሌሎች የሚተርፉ ሴቶችን አብረን እንገንባ! 💪🏾

With the generous support of the UN Trust Fund (UNVTF), Kasma Charity Organization is currently providing intensive vocational training to 50 returnee women in three high-demand sectors: Garment Making, Hairdressing, and Culinary Arts.
But true empowerment goes beyond skills. We believe our returnees are not starting from zero—they bring immense resilience and lived experience. That’s why we pair vocational training with survivor-led Peer Support Groups. By combining their inner strength with new professional skills, they are ready to thrive and uplift others.
