| 4 | The B2B Purpose Paradox – book that provides insights on how to activate an authentic purpose in your organization for innovation, scale, and greater impact.
When purpose is "lived," it becomes a powerful decision-making tool.
The book also provides examples of companies that have successfully pursued bold goals by placing purpose and humanity at the center of their brand and operations.
For instance, Caterpillar has a bold societal goal of placing 50 million people on the path to prosperity, while Charlotte Pipe, a leading U.S. manufacturer of cast iron and PVC pipe, humanizes its brand and deepens awareness of its purpose by infusing meaning and heart into its culture. | 155 |
| 5 | Если перед вы строите бренды со смыслом, то, ныряйте в Havas 2023 Global Meaningful Brands report.

If you are building a brand with purpose, then dive into the Havas 2023 Global Meaningful Brands report.
The main change from 2022 is that brands recognize the importance of making a positive contribution to the planet and society, but there is a noticeable shift from "saving the entire planet" to focusing on an individual's daily life. It's about how brands can help a specific person, rather than "the abstract everyone".
This new approach allows brands to engage their audience as co-creators in solving social problems, providing them with "platforms" and technologies for building this purpose.
The 2023 Report outlines 8 ways for meaningful brands to grow in 2023:
1. Make mental and physical wellness universal
2. Enable people to do and to feel more
3. Respect and celebrate difference
4. Let the joy shine through
5. Make it all super seamless for ME
6. Unlock accessibility: Affordability is the new inclusion
7. Become a platform: Enable people to make purpose personal
8. Do good without the drama | 219 |

| 8 | How Brand Building and Performance Marketing Can Work Together
With the right metrics, you can increase the return on both!
Marketers often worry that performance marketing and its focus on short-term sales is crowding out brand-building activities aimed at enhancing customer perceptions of their brand—and is sometimes working against brand strategy.
Brand-building activities are typically measured using metrics that have no predictive or retrospective connection to financial returns. And performance marketing typically lacks measures that account for its impact on brand building, focusing only on sales, leads, and clicks.
To achieve performance- accountable brand building and brand-accountable performance marketing, firms must create metrics that measure the effects of both types of investments on a single North Star metric: brand equity. That is then linked to specific financial outcomes—such as revenue, shareholder value, and return on investment—and deployed as a key performance indicator for both brand building and performance marketing.
In doing so, companies are better able to make decisions that fortify the financial contributions of both and get them working better together | 162 |

| 10 | My 10 take-aways from talking with Irina Orlandini-Avrutskaya (@Irina_Avrutskaya)
1. Bold Leadership: Sometimes, leading means making tough calls, even if it involves firing a general manager to ensure the values and standards of the business are upheld.
2. Adaptability: Understanding and adapting to the local customs and hierarchy can be a pivotal point in connecting with the team and motivating them towards success.
3. Resilience and Perseverance: Despite repeated delays and hindrances, maintaining a 'ready-to-open-tomorrow' attitude helped keep the team on their toes and prepared for the launch.
4. Motivation in Times of Exhaustion: Keeping the team motivated even during phases of exhaustion is essential to prevent losing members and to continue marching towards the goal.
5. Creative Problem-Solving: Leveraging the local traditions creatively to infuse fresh energy and motivation into the team showcases adept problem-solving skills.
6. Personal Investment and Dedication: Being willing to step into roles one hasn't undertaken before, such as running the store personally, demonstrates a high level of dedication and personal investment.
7. Understanding Your Audience: Recognizing the hierarchic societal structure and using it to connect and communicate with the team more effectively was a clever strategy.
8. Harnessing Brand Legacy for Motivation: Utilizing the legacy and reputation of the brand (Papa John's in this case) can be a powerful tool in inspiring the team and driving them towards success.
9. Positive Narration for Team Morale: Crafting a positive narrative, that even involved the founder of the brand, played a vital role in uplifting the team morale and steering them to one of the best openings in the brand's history.
10. Maintaining High Standards: Despite the hurdles, maintaining high standards of quality, service, and performance was key to becoming one of the best performing markets in the brand's network.

| 12 | How to test creative ideas?
Here is the great insight from Davor Bruketa - "If your idea does not fit in an Instagram ad, then it's probably not the best idea” | 463 |
| 13 | 💡Insights from Podcast on Balancing Creativity and Generative AI in the Creative Business
I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Davor Bruketa, the owner and founder of the renowned creative agency Bruketa & Žinič & Gray. We delved into the secret behind their success and the evolving role of human creativity in the face of generative AI. Here are some fascinating highlights from our conversation:
1️⃣ Embracing New Horizons: Bruketa's journey began as a design studio with ambitions to become cool designers. However, their curiosity led them to explore advertising and branding, expanding their skill set over time.
2️⃣ Generative AI as a Foundation: In a recent experiment, Bruketa collaborated with an AI startup to design a brand character. Surprisingly, the AI-generated result outshined the work of four human illustrators. They realized that generative AI provides a fantastic research and analysis tool, creating foundations for even more remarkable and unique ideas.
3️⃣ Collaboration between Humans and AI: Bruketa emphasizes the importance of collaboration between humans and generative AI. While AI accelerates idea generation, human creatives can further evolve those ideas. It's a synergistic relationship that speeds up the creative process while maintaining a human touch.
4️⃣ Potential Threats and Opportunities: The rapid development of generative AI raises concerns about the future of smaller creative agencies and freelancers. However, Bruketa believes that for those who adapt and invest in their capabilities, there will always be opportunities. The way we produce and ideate may change, but knowledge becomes more accessible, allowing for continuous learning and growth.
5️⃣ Nurturing Talent and Building Relationships: In the creative business, building a team is like a love affair. The chemistry between talented individuals and a shared creative goal leads to long-lasting partnerships. Bruketa emphasizes the importance of empathy, understanding clients and colleagues alike, and recognizing that everyone has different needs and challenges.
6️⃣ Measuring Creativity: Bruketa highlights the importance of testing concepts in a simple and honest manner. Surprisingly, they discovered that testing concepts through Instagram ads provides sincere reactions from real users. If an idea resonates in a small ad format, it has the potential to succeed in larger, more expensive media.
As the creative landscape continues to evolve, Bruketa's insights shed light on the power of collaboration, the role of generative AI, and the enduring value of human creativity. By embracing change, staying curious, and building meaningful relationships, creative professionals can navigate the dynamic world of branding and design successfully.
