About attempting GS, few points * Always attempt a ques before entering the exam hall especially in morning, it'll act as ice breaker. Otherwise you'll take 12-15 mins to write one 10 marker and overall time would be difficult. So get yourself a head start. * Reach 1 hour before on the venue for the first paper. It's difficult for that day to locate the exact centre sometimes. * Write as per the time limit not the word limit. If you can fill the pages in time do it, don't bother about the words. * Write first few answers in the GS as good it gives examiner being subjective person a good impression * Devote equal time to all questions as per marks I used to give 8 mins + 10 mins for 10M and 15 M respectively. Don't get senti in one question that you know it all so will give more makrs to it. Understand the opportunity cost of it. You won't gain a lot in that. * Complete the paper in any case. Let your hand pain if it does in exam and understand the pain of failure would be much more. So don't stop till your paper is completed. I remember i don't even used to raise my head up during those 3 hours and it used to pass like the blink of an eye. * Always be innovative in your answers. If you feel any diagram can be made please make it. Don't restrict yourself. Innovation is rewarded * Lastly I woould say it's a generalist paper, so yoh have all the knowledge you just have to apply that. So think from broad perspective and common sensical way. It'll fetch you more marks than any notes marks. In any mid exam if you feel not so confident tell you self all izz well and you are the best. Your preparation is best. No one can beat you. That should be attitude in exam. Ace like a boss. Best of luck guys my best wishes are with you. I'm sure you'll do wonders ✌️

Guys last 2 days are left, Please focus on essay and stop revising anything else. I would suggest you write one essay tomorrow itself and analyse it on a few parameters like * Is intro a good one and picks up the gist of the topic * Is every para relevant to the topic of the essay * Paras are short like 2 paras in one page * Each para has to be unique as there should ne no repetition * Flow of essay should not break. By flow i mean like if the topic is can capitalism lead to inclusive growth then pro points should be one side and against points together after this * Have you given a proper summary. Summary means your stand on the topic after writing so many paras. It should always be balanced. Like in above topic i can say yes capitalism can lead to IG provided..... Also i would ask you to make framework of all the topics of last 2 years. All means all ie 8 topics of 2020 and 8 topics of 2021. I did this in my time. I was doing with a friend and it ll help you see which dimensions you have left and what else you can cover. It ll broaden your horizon in short time. Also best part is your fear of upsc essay would be gone and you'll feel confident that you can ace any topic now. Plus if you get time, you can read the toppers essays and try to analyse the anecdotes and the intro conclusion they have given. You can always copy them if you found them relevant. Also during the essay always give both sides of views. In any topic you can always contracict the topic and can generate additional points. But at the end balanced conclusion is best. I used to follow every para one example or illustration to prove my point which I'll also suggest you to do. It makes ur essay interesting. That's it from my side for the essay.

An Old session but very motivating
