And the award for unparalleled accuracy goes to… 🥁🥁🥁 Scientists from SPbPU have developed a new way to deliver radium-223 directly into malignant breast tumors. Their radiopharmaceutical hits the target without harming healthy organs.
Why this method stands out: 💊 Fewer side effects compared to conventional radiotherapy 💊 Slows tumor growth by 76–83% 💊 Opens the door to combined radio- and chemotherapy for breast cancer

⚡️ Scientists from SPbPU and the Ioffe Institute uncover the secrets of plasma behavior: the World is one step closer to a fusion reactor For the first time in the world, a unique study of plasma bursts — Edge Localized Modes (ELMs) — has been conducted on the spherical tokamak "Globus-M2." Previously, it was believed that only large bursts were dangerous, but the experiment has shown that even "small" ELMs fundamentally restructure the plasma periphery.
What they managed to find out: 🚀 The electron temperature at the plasma edge jumps fivefold. 🌪 The plasma rotation speed increases by 50% deep into the device. 💥 Plasma filaments move at speeds of 3–10 km/s.
According to scientists Arseniy Tokarev and Alexander Yashin, this data allows a transition from empirical mode selection to conscious reactor control. This reduces the risks of wall damage and makes the future fusion reactor more reliable.
