Came into force: 1989 One of the most important environmental agreements. ☘️3. Kigali Amendment — 2016 ⭐ Amendment to the Montreal Protocol. Targets HFCs (hydrofluorocarbons) because of their high global-warming potential. Important distinction: HFCs do not significantly deplete ozone, but they are powerful greenhouse gases.
