The Institute for Medical Humanities and Department of Sociology at Durham University is advertising for a three-year postdoctoral position in the field of health inequalities (broadly conceived). The post is associated with the Discovery Research Platform for Medical Humanities, a seven year long research platform funded by the Wellcome Trust. The postdoc will benefit from a supportive and highly interdisciplinary community associated with the Platform, which will include a number of other postdocs and fellows being hired around the same time. This role is associated with The Practice, one of three ‘Sites’ that, along with six ‘Labs’, make up the Platform. The Practice is a working partnership with St Anthony’s Health Centre in Newcastle, a GP surgery serving one of the most socioeconomically deprived communities in the North East. The Practice is led by Dr Jesse Proudfoot, a social scientist, and Dr Jonathan Coates, a GP and IMH fellow. We welcome applicants with interests in substance misuse and addiction, the medicalisation of distress, the lived experience of illness, the sociopolitical production of health and illness, and other related topics. The successful applicant will develop a research project in concert with The Practice, drawing on their own expertise and in collaboration with clinicians, patients, and the research team.Вакансия здесь. #постдок #вакансия #финансирование #Великобритания #антропология #здравоохранение
