Darrell Brooks can still be charged with hate crimes. He was not charged with them as of yet, so to bring such charges either federally or at the local level would not be double jeopardy. We should not be satisfied with a guilty verdict for intentional murder. Prosecuting this is the least of the state's obligations, so I am not particularly impressed with them doing the bare minimum. Brooks must be charged for his racial attack or else such statutes must be dropped, because they are obviously just tools used to oppress one race, White people.

There was a school shooting yesterday in St. Louis. 3 dead and 7 injured. The shooter was killed in a shootout with police. The shooter had body armor, an AR-15, drove out of state to purchase his weapon and wrote a manifesto saying he wanted to be the next big national shooter everyone knows about and praising previous shooters as his idol.
