Reading about German military intelligence unit the Brandenburgers and their exploits during WWII and came across the fact that Bill Donovan, later of the OSS, encouraged a Serbian general, Dusan Simovic, to lead a Serbian nationalist coup d'etat right after Yugoslavia signed to the Tripartite pact in Vienna, in March 1941. Donovan promises a lot of American aid. What happens instead is Germany invades right after as Yugoslavia has broken the treaty, Simovic flees, and after the war is a witness for the prosecution at Drazha Mihailovic's trial.
