VIEW POINT: I have no difficulty with people trying to feel good about themselves, even living in a pretend world. However I do have a difficulty when the historical record is distorted to back up a nonsense theory supported by nothing except ideology. Take for example the ‘Beachey Head woman’. This refers to a female skeleton found in a Roman era grave in Southern Britain in the nineteen fifties. It was carbon dated to the first or second century AD. Ancestry classifications were made on skull shape in the pre DNA era and it was decided that she was sub Saharan Africia, in other words black. This was what the wokes were looking for, the first black Britain. In 2016 a plaque was erected to celebrate the ‘first black Britain. However science moves on and inconveniently DNA was extracted from the skeleton. This was the skeleton of a woman from Cyprus, a country that is fully European and part of the Roman Empire. Interestingly nobody is scrambling to erect a plaque to the first Cyprian Britain. This should not be a matter of serious concern, just a matter of amusement to brighten up the day. Earlier in the year it was postulated that the indigenous people of Britain were civilised by a unit of black Roman soldiers who garrisoned Hadrians wall in the third century AD. It is true that North Africa was part of the Roman Empire and it is perfectly feasible that a legion from North Africa found its way to Britain to garrison the wall. Emperor Septimus Servius who died in 211AD was from North Africia but I regret to announce to ‘black lives matter’ that he was not black, he was a regular Roman Emperor who happened to be born to a Roman family stationed in modern Libya. The truth can be tough. However a ‘moorish’ unit of a Roman legion may have garrisoned the wall in the third century AD. Again there is nothing to suggest that they were black. But the real question is does it really matter. Unfortunately I tend to be colour blind, it’s the quality of the person that interests me rather than the colour of one’s skin. Unlike ‘black lives matter’ types I am not a racist. Having said that I prefer the company of my own tribe and I am entitled to exercise that preference. But again is the ridiculous theory of ‘blacks’ civilising ancient Britain simply as amusing as it is pathetic or should serious academic historians say to this historical distortion that enough is enough. When woke theories are elevated to ‘fact’ and then peddled to unsuspecting students and others it is time to call for truthfulness and evidence. But it gets worse. There are professional scroungers and whingers who attempt to burthen us with undeserved guilt. This is a sophisticated scam aimed at chiselling money out of western countries that are made to feel guilty for their ancestors participation in the ‘slave trade’. This is much more than the traditional begging bowl although the principle is the same. I am referring to African countries whose ancestors benefited and grew rich from the slave trade demanding compensation from European nations who pre March 1807 AD transported enslaved people across the Atlantic. European nations are invited to pay into a slavery reparation fund called the Global Reparation Fund and the starting figure is believed to be €50 Billion. These guys aim high. Top this up with the trillions they are demanding for ‘climate’ reparation and it is no longer funny. These professional beggars know how to hustle, shame, threaten and become a professional nuisance in order to make western nations part with their money. The tribes that make up the modern states of Nigeria and Ghana grew rich from the slave trade by raiding into the interior to capture and enslave other black people and sell them on to middle men. Most slaves were transported across the Indian Ocean to Muslim states. That trade gets a free pass, no point looking for money there. But the full financial burthen is expected to be paid by those nations that participated in the Atlantic slave trade only. This is no more than a bare faced attempt to grab undeserved money. Go away!
