Was greatly disappointed in the 1970's when Irish rebels went Far Left, aligning with the Soviets. This was clearly a move orchestrated by the British to sever the ties to overseas Irish who'd been a reliable source of material and moral support to the resistance. But when it started going Communist Leftist, I personally saw the support and interest drop off fast. They were infiltrated then led or false flagged into hitting civilian targets rather than military and occupation targets. Now whoever and whatever the IRA became they certainly aren't a legitimate representation of Irish National Patriotism. We need and deserve a new and better one, more like the United Irishman of old.
