Subject: Concern Regarding Distant Examination Centres for Junior Court Assistant Exam Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to express my concern regarding the allocation of examination centres for the Junior Court Assistant (JCA) Exam in the Supreme Court of India. Many candidates, including myself, have been allotted centres that are extremely far from our residential locations. This has created significant logistical and financial challenges, which may adversely impact our ability to appear for the exam smoothly. Violation of Article 16 of the Indian Constitution The allocation of distant centres effectively denies equal opportunity in public employment, as guaranteed under Article 16 of the Indian Constitution. Candidates from remote areas or those with financial constraints may find it difficult to travel long distances, leading to an unfair disadvantage in the selection process. Concerns Regarding Women’s Safety A large number of female candidates are appearing for this examination. Traveling to far-off locations, often requiring overnight journeys and unfamiliar accommodations, poses serious safety concerns. Ensuring nearby examination centres would significantly enhance security and encourage greater participation of women in the recruitment process. Unnecessary Mental & Financial Burden With the examination approaching, candidates are forced to spend valuable time and resources on booking train or flight tickets and arranging accommodations. This additional stress diverts focus from preparation and makes the process more difficult for aspirants, particularly those from economically weaker backgrounds. Request for Consideration In light of the above, I sincerely request the concerned authorities to: 1. Reconsider the allocation of examination centres, ensuring they are as close as possible to candidates’ preferred locations. 2. Provide an option for centre change requests, especially for those facing genuine difficulties. 3. Ensure better planning in future exams to uphold the principle of equal opportunity for all aspirants.
