Maninder Pal Singh Kohli, a 41-year-old Indian immigrant van driver (who had lived in the UK since 1993), forced her into his sandwich delivery van. He raped her multiple times and then strangled her, dumping her body in bushes along Allington Lane in nearby West End, Hampshire. Her body was found two days later. In 2008, he was convicted of murder, rape, kidnap, and false imprisonment at Winchester Crown Court and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 24 years.
