Repost from ULI - Ukrainische Linke Initiative
🗣Our comrades and friends are inviting you to a book launch and discussion!
More than twelve years after the Euromaidan uprising, the events of 2013–2014 remain a subject of heated political debate. For some, the Maidan represents a democratic revolution. Others emphasize the role of far-right forces or interpret the events primarily through the lens of geopolitical confrontation. Yet these competing narratives often leave little room for the complex experiences of those who participated in the protests and counterprotests, their aspirations, and the dynamics that transformed a mass uprising into a violent confrontation. In his new book, "Ukraine's Euromaidan: From Revolutionary Euphoria to the Madness of War" (2026), historian William Jay Risch offers a critical history of the revolution through the experiences of participants. He traces the protests in Kyiv and their connections to events across Ukraine. Risch explores how the movement marginalized left-wing voices, how attempts to broaden mobilization fell short, and how escalating violence weakened the state and deepened divisions within Ukrainian society. His account reveals how political opponents came to dehumanize one another and how revolutionary euphoria gave way to confrontation and war. At the book launch, Risch will be joined by sociologist Oleg Zhuravlev, who has also studied the Euromaidan protests, to discuss the uprising: What made the Euromaidan a revolution, and what were its limits? Why did the movement struggle to accommodate different political and social demands? How did protest and counterprotest radicalize one another? And what can this history tell us about revolutionary change today? Speakers: • William Jay Risch is Professor of Russian and Eastern European History at Georgia College & State University, USA. • Oleg Zhuravlev is a sociologist, postdoctoral researcher at TU Dresden, and member of the PS Lab. Moderation: • Olha Lushankina is a sociologist, activist of the ULI, and editor of Commons: Journal of Social Criticism.📆Tuesday, October 27, 19:00 📍MaHalle, Waldemarstraße 110, 10997 Berlin The event will be conducted in English. CRIMEA BEHIND BARS
15 October 2026 · 18:00
Pariser Platz, Berlin
On 15 October, artist Aziza Eskender will present a performance dedicated to the political prisoners of Crimea.
Behind the occupation of Crimea lies a reality that must not be forgotten:
political persecution. Arrests. Searches. Intimidation. Imprisonment.
People are prosecuted for their civic position, their words, their peaceful activities and their refusal to remain silent.
Behind every case is a person.
A name.
A family.
A life.
This performance is for those who are behind bars.
For those whose homes have been searched.
For those who have been threatened, silenced and deprived of their freedom.
We are here to speak about what is being silenced in Crimea.
We are here to speak when others are forced into silence.
We are here to make the voices of political prisoners heard.

Can you always tell when AI is influencing what you see online?
Political content, targeted influence campaigns and AI-generated information are becoming harder to recognize — especially during elections.
At our interactive workshop “AI & Elections: Helping Young Voters Spot Their Own Bias”, we’ll look at how AI-powered influence operations work, which cognitive biases make us more vulnerable to manipulation, and what we can do to spot misleading content more critically.
Together with Artur Yatsenko, we’ll work with real examples and practical tools for recognizing confirmation bias, checking information and navigating political content online more consciously.

Currently, more than 170 internally displaced families are receiving support in the form of essential supplies through the distribution of donations organized by @dmitriisolovev4998 and his team in Vysokopillia.
Most of them are elderly people, the sick, people with disabilities, and children who were unable to flee on their own. As they fled, they had to leave everything behind, which is why the need is always urgent.
Next fucking winter is just around the corner, those russian bastards are going even more berserk, and all we can do is try to ease the suffering… it’s something, at least, but it’s still frustrating.
Here's a list of urgently needed items. In Berlin you can drop them of at @protokollberlin and @bajszel
Thank you and FUCK RUSSIA!

Repost from Колективи Солідарності • Solidarity Collectives
🇬🇧 Ivanka “Hayka” Kutsenko was killed
On the night of October 1, we learned that our comrade Hayka had been killed during an artillery strike. She was 33 years old.
An anarchist, feminist, vegan, educator, marine, our dear comrade and friend. She was an embodiment of inspiration and resistance: sincere, stubborn, full of life.
“I felt that I would keep hammering away at this rock, and eventually it would bring results.”
Hayka’s experience has been documented in many interviews, lectures, and conversations. In June, at the birthday event of Solidarity Collectives, she spoke together with other anti-authoritarians about her experience in the army: sexism, housing problems, veganism, logistics, and everyday life in military service. She was never afraid to challenge the system, and through her own example she supported and encouraged other comrades who wanted to join the Armed Forces.
Her activist path ran through a wide range of anti-authoritarian projects and initiatives in Kharkiv, Odesa, Kyiv, Lviv, and beyond the cities. She gave lectures, wrote articles and fairy tales, was involved in self-publishing, practiced freeganism, and researched landfills and the lives of people around them. Ivanka travelled a lot and lived through activism. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, she worked on humanitarian projects, helping women and children from frontline areas, and later joined the armed resistance herself.
Hayka carved out her own path as a marine through prejudice and the sexist barriers of the military system, eventually serving alongside her comrades as an equal on difficult combat missions.
Hayka, we will miss you deeply.
Our sincere condolences to her loved ones, friends, comrades, and fellow soldiers.
We will share information about the farewell as soon as we know more. The date of the funeral is not yet known.
Today is the last day to participate in Lilith's raffle (https://www.instagram.com/lilith__llllllll/) to raise money for families in Gaza. She's managed to get together people who offer everything from tattoos, personal training, ceramics workshops, massage, personal coaching, etc. Buy tickets in multiples of 10€ here: https://soli-raffle--site-studio.replit.app
Russia has taken Israel's intentional starvation of Gaza as a model, which it is now applying to the town of Oleshky in the occupied zone of the Kherson Oblast in south Ukraine. Come to the demo this evening at 18:30!
