| 7 | Again, Big blunder by Institute !
They have changed CA Final exams again, now back to 2 attempts a year.
But what about students who had already planned their studies based on earlier pattern?
How are they supposed to manage now?
I’m seeing so many students under extreme stress because of this sudden change.
They says this decision is taken considering “stakeholder feedback”.
Who are these stakeholders?
Are they even real students?
Because no student who has plan their study would support such decision.
When May exams are less than a month away, giving such a shock is just unfair.
If they are not able to manage evaluation properly... we already saw the Jan 26, so many paper checking issues... then focus should be on fixing that.
And if they couldn’t handle 3 attempts, then why introduce it in the first place?
It honestly feels like every year a new leader comes in and just wants to make changes for the sake of it.
Last year - 3 attempts (and that so called 50 Lacs CA statement)
Now - back to 2 attempts.
Do they really care about students situation and mental stress?
Yes, this decision might make sense in the long term. Preparing for CA Final needs proper time.
But what about students right now?
Why not introduce a proper transition period?
They could have continued this system till Jan 2027 and then shifted.
Why are all these experiments always done on students, and never on their own people, the practitioners running firms?
Instead of this, They should focus on:
- Improving paper checking quality
- Removing unnecessary subjects like IBS
- Increasing real job opportunities after so much hard work students find so difficult

| 11 | IBS – Serious Concerns !
Once again, ICAI has made IBS paper unnecessarily difficult.
The issue is not the difficulty, but what is being tested.
I reviewed paper. 10 marks were MCQs where students had to identify correct & incorrect options. This format doesn’t just test understanding... it demands very deep, detailed subject knowledge.
Now the real question is: what exactly does ICAI want to achieve?
Many students cleared Group 1 earlier. Naturally, they are not experts in every subject anymore. Yet, in IBS, ICAI is asking questions that are sometimes not even asked in the main subject papers themselves.
Difficulty is not the problem.
Inconsistency is.
If such depth is required, why isn’t the same level tested in the main papers as well?
What is the real purpose of IBS...combining multiple subjects, increasing complexity & ultimately causing students to get stuck in Group 2?
This has become a serious challenge for students.
Either ICAI should have retained Law SCMPE or introduced a future oriented paper focused on technology, AI, analytics, & emerging business tools to genuinely upskill CA students.

➨ Don't waste too much time finding a similar case study. It shouldn't happen that questions are new but direct & easy, and content of the same could be easily found in ICAI module/other material you carry, but you run out of time.
Allocate a maximum 25 minutes overall to find a similar case studies.
➨ If it's new, first identify subject of question, then try to find which chapter it belongs to & then refer the ICAI module for the same.
➨ For Theory questions, search for the topic asked in the question from ICAI module index.
➨ For Practical questions, it's possible that it is taken from ICAI questions only. If unsure, quickly go through illustrations & TYK of relevant chapter.
➨ If any question is new & you can't answer, don't leave it completely blank. Write other relevant content of same topic & provide analysis, especially for theory.
➨ It's crucial to attempt 100% of the paper. Don't think that if you've found all the answers, it's okay to leave some marks of paper.
➨ In this exam, ICAI don't always give marks as per our expectations. I also expected 75 in eco law but ended up scoring 67. So this happens in open book paper.
ICAI don't give full marks in every que , but attempting full paper increases your chances of getting marks and this can really help you to score exemption.
From the start keep the same pace as paper will be very lengthy, so target to complete one case study in 50 minutes.
➨ To save time, Carry ICAI Module Index separately so that you won't need to open bulky module again & again during the exam.

🎯 Strategy to Score High in IBS
➨ Many Times Practical questions are picked directly from ICAI Illustrations & TYK.
Hence, carrying ICAI Study Module is mandatory.
It will be very useful for you if the same questions are asked from it.
➨ Even for theory subjects also,
Avoid summary notes, because we never know from which part ICAI can ask questions, and if you have ICAI exhaustive module, then you can find all questions from it.
📖 During Exam Follow this (for new questions):
First, identify the subject of descriptive question, then try to find which chapter it belongs to. Then, come to the ICAI module index and search for the topic asked in the question.
Before going to the exam, have a look at the ICAI Module index for theory & for practical subject to get idea of each chapter so that you can identify the chapter names & questions (practical TYK & Illustration) quickly during the exam.
For practical subject questions, ICAI may ask same questions from TYK & Illustrations given in the Module. So, for that also, take the module.
And if no repeated question comes then apply your knowledge & solve it.
