CREATING A CLIENT-MAGNET LINKEDIN PROFILE Did you know that LinkedIn profiles have five stages of strength: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, and All-Star? These levels aren't about your level of experience, but rather how you've completed your profile. By filling out all the sections provided on your profile, you can achieve All-Star status. Yes, it’s really that simple! Achieving All-Star status on your LinkedIn profile makes you more likely to appear in search results, which in turn increases the chances of being contacted by potential clients about job opportunities that match your skills. So, let's make sure your profile is set up to attract the right attention! 1️⃣ Profile photo: Use a high-resolution, professional-looking image. A semi-formal photo is perfect, and make sure the background isn't messy. You can easily edit the background with tools like Canva. Also, don’t forget to update your cover photo (banner); Canva has plenty of great options! 2️⃣Headline: This should be a combination of your title + your value. Make it catchy and clear about what you bring to the table. 3️⃣“About” section: Make your "About" section a compelling narrative about who you are and what you do. Include relevant keywords. Keywords play a significant role in LinkedIn's search feature, so when potential clients are searching for talent, these keywords will help them find you. FIND WHAT WORKS BEST TO RECHARGE YOUR ENERGY As an introvert, I know how tiring it can be to be around lots of people for too long. You end up feeling exhausted and uncomfortable, with your energy totally drained. This is why working remotely can be such a perfect fit for introverts. In a remote role, you don't need to meet with people face-to-face every day. You can handle most of your communications through emails or quick messages on WhatsApp, and even Zoom calls become something you can manage without too much stress. This way, you can enhance your communication skills gradually, in a way that doesn't leave you feeling overwhelmed. However, like any job, remote work can also lead to exhaustion. It's perfectly normal. After a day filled with Zoom calls, emails, and constant messaging, you might feel completely drained. Here's a little tip: switch off those work notifications and create a calming environment. Play soft music, and get lost in a novel you've been excited to read. INTROVERT IS YOUR WEAKNESS? THINK AGAIN! Hi, I am Zakirah Zakaria, a creative virtual assistant managing five clients, a stay-at-home mom, and once a self-doubted introvert. Would you like to hear my story? Once, while driving to a cafe for a meet-up with a new client, I was a total mess, and a hard battle was spinning in my head: “You don't deserve a client, you're just a stay-at-home mom,’ ‘You’re a nobody,’ ‘This client is going to see right through you and regret their decision!". I realized that these doubts most likely came from my introverted nature, which hesitates to meet and socialize with 'new people'. When I arrived at the parking space, I took a few deep breaths and reassured myself: “It's okay if I mess up, it's okay if I make mistakes, it's okay if this doesn't work out. Yes, I’m a stay-at-home mom, but I have the skills necessary to assist this client.” I also believe that God will help me, so I just need to show up, regardless of the outcome. Long story short, I walked into the cafe, met with the client, and successfully closed the deal. Here, I want to share with you that being an introvert is not a weakness. In fact, it offers strengths that clients highly value. As introverts, we are good listeners, which enables us to better understand our clients' needs and communicate in a caring manner. Additionally, our high attention to detail can significantly enhance the quality of our work. A little flashback—I had a game-changing moment during the SGB VA course. In week one of the course, we did a cool exercise on personality reflection and identifying our strengths. I realized that my caring nature and passion for helping others could drive me to thrive in a field even often dominated by extroverts, such as the creative industry. Particularly in the world of remote work, like being a virtual assistant, I find that starting with online networking is less intimidating than jumping into face-to-face or offline networking events. It helps me build tolerance for socializing gradually. However, there's no harm in trying to move toward offline networking events, maybe just once or twice a month to begin with. TAKE ACTION AND INITIATIVE Hi, I'm Rosalyn (instagram.com/rose.virtually), and I want to share my story with you. Right now, I'm working as a Virtual Assistant (VA) with 3 international clients and 1 local client. But don't be surprised when I tell you this: I started with zero work experience. Yep, you read that right! After graduating from college, I started helping out with my parents' business. Later, after getting married, I also assisted with my husband's business. It was mostly just 'helping out', really—nothing that felt like a structured, formal job. However, as time went on, I found myself craving more independence and started exploring ways to earn my own income. That's when I began looking into what I could do next... Before that, I once landed some freelance translation projects, but those were small projects that were, you know, here today and gone tomorrow. I wanted to search for something more fulfilling. CREATING A CLIENT-MAGNET LINKEDIN PROFILE Did you know that LinkedIn profiles have five stages of strength: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, and All-Star? These levels aren't about your level of experience, but rather how you've completed your profile. By filling out all the sections provided on your profile, you can achieve All-Star status. Yes, it’s really that simple! Achieving All-Star status on your LinkedIn profile makes you more likely to appear in search results, which in turn increases the chances of being contacted by potential clients about job opportunities that match your skills. So, let's make sure your profile is set up to attract the right attention! 1️⃣ Profile photo: Use a high-resolution, professional-looking image. A semi-formal photo is perfect, and make sure the background isn't messy. You can easily edit the background with tools like Canva. Also, don’t forget to update your cover photo (banner); Canva has plenty of great options! 2️⃣Headline: This should be a combination of your title + your value. Make it catchy and clear about what you bring to the table. 3️⃣“About” section: Make your "About" section a compelling narrative about who you are and what you do. Include relevant keywords.
