Do you know that your children are at the extreme risk of NOT getting a govt job in the future? Do you know that despite of immense hardwork and securing a good rank in Prestigious Exams like NEET, IAS ,KAS, your Children will be thrown out of the selection list? YES, you heard it right!! Actually, Jammu and Kashmir Government has recently come up with a statutory order which states that the share of General Category has been slashed from 50% to 40%.This 10% has been snatched from Open Merit and added to ST's(Gujjars,Bakarwals,Pahadi') and OBC Quota. Even out of 40% ,the 10% is earmarked for Horizantal Reservation. So effectively the share left for Open Merit is only 30%.These 30% of seats are open for everybody, no matter he/she belongs to Open Merit or any other Reserved Category.
Take the example of NEET. There are almost 1300 MBBS seats across the J&K.That means only 390 seats will be left for OM.Everybody can compete for these 390 seats but Your children can't compete for rest of the 60% seats.Same will be the case with other competitive exams in J&k.Imagine your son/daughter despite of Getting Rank 31 in the overall merit is thrown out of the final selection list of 100 KAS posts.This is sheer Injustice.The population of people belonging to general category in J&K is 69% as per 2011 census. So how is 30% share in jobs and admissions for 69% population justified. This has been done by the current ruling dispensation as a measure of vote bank politics, just to lure the voters from Pahadi and OBC communities.And don't think that Govt is going to stop here. Tomorrow if they will feel the need for further enhancing the quota for Reserved Categories at the cost of General Category, they will do it for their Electoral gains. So If you really care for the future of your children, Raise your Voices for Restoration of 50% share for General category. Wake Up before it is too late. SHARE THIS MESSAGE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE 🙏
