On the Iranian attacks in the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani adopted a much more cautious tone today than Bafel Talabani did last night.
He said, “Every country wants to ensure that other countries do not become a source of danger or a threat to its national security,” adding, “We also do not want the Kurdistan Region to be threatened by anyone.” He then called for the attacks on the Kurdistan Region to stop which he called ‘unjustified’.

Some reports, citing Turkish sources, claim the PKK has evacuated several key camps in the Gara Mountains.
If true, it would mark a major development. Gara has long served as a key PKK command centre and logistical hub, with extensive tunnel networks. Its distance from the Turkish border has also made it a relatively secure rear base.
