Dear esteemed students,
We wish to bring to your notice that the issue with the grouped courses on elearn is near resolution.
This issue is as a result of change in some infrastructure at our partners end which has impact on the group courses configuration.
Grouped courses are those that are split into geo-political zones on the course pages e.g NC,SE,SW etc
Be assured that in a few days now, the issue will be resolved and please note that it will not have any negative implication on our learners.
Dr. Vivian O. Nwaocha

| 3 | Your matriculation is more than just wearing a gown and taking pictures. It marks an important moment in your journey as a student of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
If you can attend physically, go, participate, meet people, make friends, take pictures, celebrate, and enjoy the moment.
If you cannot attend physically, you can still watch the ceremony online.
Do not allow confusion or misinformation to make you unnecessarily worried.
Welcome officially to NOUN, and congratulations once again! 🎓💚 | 21 |
| 4 | *OFFICIAL CLARIFICATION ON NOUN MATRICULATION, OATH FORM & COLLECTION OF MATRICULATION GOWNS*
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL NEW STUDENTS
Dear New Students,
This is to provide a clear and official clarification regarding the forthcoming Matriculation Ceremony, Oath Form, and collection of matriculation gowns. All newly admitted students are advised to read this information carefully.
*🎓 1. MATRICULATION CEREMONY — PHYSICAL & ONLINE*
The matriculation ceremony will be conducted physically at all designated NOUN Study Centres across the country.
New students are encouraged to attend physically at their respective Study Centres. This is a special and memorable occasion where the University officially welcomes you as bona fide students of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
It is also an opportunity to:
✅ Meet and interact with fellow students
✅ Make new friends and exchange contacts
✅ Take pictures and create beautiful memories
✅ Celebrate with your classmates
✅ Enjoy the matriculation experience with your family and loved ones
You are also welcome to come along with your parents, siblings, relatives, or loved ones to celebrate this important milestone with you.
*💻 WHAT IF I CANNOT ATTEND PHYSICALLY?*
The matriculation will also be streamed online from the NOUN Headquarters in Abuja.
Therefore, students who may be unable to attend physically can join the online livestream and watch the ceremony from wherever they are.
However, please understand that online participation is primarily for viewing the ceremony. It does not mean that the physical matriculation ceremony at your Study Centre has been cancelled or replaced.
The main ceremony, including the Vice-Chancellor's address and other official University/Senate proceedings, will be streamed live to the Study Centres.
After the official proceedings, students at the Study Centres can proceed with their own celebration, wearing their matriculation gowns, taking pictures, interacting with one another, and enjoying the occasion.
So, if you are available to attend physically, we strongly encourage you to go and experience it firsthand. It is a one-time ceremony and a beautiful part of your university journey. 🎓📸
*📝 2. CLARIFICATION ON THE OATH FORM*
Students should also note that the Oath Form can still be completed after the matriculation ceremony.
Therefore, if you are unable to attend the matriculation ceremony physically, do not panic about the Oath Form.
You can request for the Oath Form afterwards, complete it, and have it signed accordingly.
Attendance at the physical matriculation ceremony is not compulsory.
However, if you have the opportunity and time to attend, it is highly encouraged because it gives you the opportunity to participate in this important milestone and celebrate with your fellow students.
*🎓 3. COLLECTION OF MATRICULATION GOWNS*
From Monday,7th September, individual Study Centres will begin providing information on the collection of matriculation gowns.
Students should follow the instructions and arrangements provided by their respective Study Centres.
Please note that a refundable deposit may be required before a matriculation gown is issued.
The amount may vary from one Study Centre to another depending on the centre's arrangement. For example, a centre may request ₦2,000, ₦3,000, ₦5,000, or another specified amount.
The deposit is refundable upon the proper return of the gown, subject to the Study Centre's policy.
This deposit is mainly to ensure that the gowns are properly returned and kept in good condition.
*⚠️ 4. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE MATRICULATION CAP*
Once you collect your matriculation gown, please take proper care of it.
*DO NOT WASH THE MATRICULATION CAP WITH WATER.*
You may wash and iron the gown itself where necessary, but do not wash the cap with water.
Instead, you can gently brush and clean the cap to keep it neat.
Please ensure that the gown and cap are returned in good condition according to the instructions of your Study Centre.
*🎉 FINALLY, CONGRATULATIONS!* | 20 |

| 12 | *THE RECENT WAY TO DO EXAMINATION CLEARANCE IN 2026*
Once you finish your course and exam registration, there is one more step you MUST complete.
You must go to your study centre for physical clearance before your exam slip will open.
What does this mean?
Even if you have:
* *Printed your e-wallet slip*
* *Printed your course registration slip*
You CANNOT print your exam slip until you are physically cleared at your study centre.
Clearance will be done by three offices:
* *Bursary*
* *Registry*
* *Study Centre Director*
Once all three clear you:
* Your exam slip will open automatically
* Your registered courses will appear on the e-learning portal
This new rule is to stop problems like missing courses on the portal.
*VERY IMPORTANT*
* Do not wait until exam period.
* Go for clearance immediately after registration (at least one month before exams).
If you add, drop, or change any course after clearance, your clearance is cancelled and you must repeat the process.
*Remember: No exam slip, no entry into the exam hall.*
This is not like previous semesters.
You may no longer do clearance on the exam day.
Register early. Clear early. Avoid stories. | 56 |
| 13 | *Update and Reminder*
All registration is ongoing and closing soon, then late registration will be activated
TMA is ongoing as well, book yours now to avoid delay....
Project Administration System (PAS) will be opened soon, Start your research project work early so as to upload as soon as possible

| 17 | *IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR WUSE II STUDENTS*
Let's explain the memo.......
The Wuse II Study Centre has announced that *from 1 September 2026, cash payments will no longer be accepted* at the study centre.
Instead, *POS will be the official way to make payments* for services such as:
* School-related payments
* Business Centre services
* Bursary transactions
* Store purchases
* Photocopying
* Laminating
*In simple terms:* If you want to pay for any of these services at Wuse II Study Centre, *come prepared to pay through POS.*
The change is being introduced to make payments safer, easier to track, and more transparent.
Please take note and plan accordingly. | 62 |
| 18 | *📢 TMA Assistance Available*
*Need help submitting your TMA? You can book now to avoid the last-minute rush.*
⚠️ However, please be cautious—anyone promising you a perfect 30/30 in all courses is not being truthful. Some questions may have administrative issues beyond anyone’s control, so a flawless score is unrealistic.
*✅ Who Can Book TMA with Us?*
* *Busy Students:* Those always occupied with work or other activities and can’t create time for TMA.
* *Grade-Focused Students:* Especially new students who want good grades but are not prepared for it.
* *Money-Minded Students 🤣:* You can do it yourself, but if you’d rather pay someone, I’m available.
* *Novice Students:* If you’re a new student and still learning the process.
*📌 Important Notes*
* All TMAs are handled manually.
* Early booking is encouraged to avoid deadline pressure, you can bring them in anytime you are done with your registration)
