. Dell recently announced their Dell Latitude 7350 Detachable Tablet/Laptop, which can be order pre-loaded with Linux, thus ensuring that you are getting a Tablet that supports Linux. . Unfortunately Minecraft is now owned by Microsoft, which means you must have an MS account to play the game. Minetest on the other hand is the open source alternative to Minecraft, and with the proper world installed, it has good gameplay. Having an MS account is not an option for many of us. Minetest helps squash any temptations one might encounter when considering Minecraft. You can install the latest version via PPA using these commands on Mint/Ubuntu distros.

Minetest comes with the "Minetest Game" pre-installed, but that game is very boring. We recommend you hit the "+" sign in the lower left, and install the "Mesetest" game. . Today is the initial release of a new app store coming from the NOSTR community, that shows great promise. It is based on the NOSTR protocol, which means it is can be decentralized app store. . Setting up a DeGoogled phone for kids can be done fairly easy now using the latest version GrapheneOS. The steps are as follows: 1. DeGoogle a phone with GrapheneOS. You can get good used Pixel phones from Swappa.com. In order to ensure support for a few years, get a newer model, such as a Pixel 6/6 Pro. Your kids will thank you always and forever for the nice phone. 💪🏻 2. Turn on multi-user accounts, & create a "kid's" account. 3. Install the apps you want on your child's phone to the "Owner" account, and push those apps to your child's account under the multi-user settings. Don't give them any apps that let them surf the Internet. Make sure you disable the ability to install apps in the kid's account once done pushing apps. 4. Remove the GrapheneOS web browser "Vanadium" from the kid's account so they can't surf the Internet. 5. . Do you want to install the latest version of GIMP, not including the buggy development version? Stable LTS (Long Term Support) Linux distros don't usually come with the latest software releases. For example, Linux Mint 21.3 currently comes with Gimp version 2.10.30, but the latest release is 2.10.36. The latest releases of GIMP tend to have some really nice improvements because they are rewriting GIMP making it much more professional, user friendly, and full featured, so it's good to have the latest stable release. You can get the latest version of GIMP on Mint/Ubuntu, or any other Ubuntu based distro using the GIMP PPA repository. VERY BAD NEWS FOR FREEDOM! 🚨🚨🚨 The “Ban TikTok Act” or as I like to call it more accurately “Patriot Act 2.0” has just passed the House in an OVERWHELMING MAJORITY, 352-65. ByteDance has 6 Months to find a “divestment plan” or it will be BANNED. As I mentioned, if this bill passes and is subsequently signed into law, which Joe Biden said he would do, then that would be the END of internet freedom and anonymity in America. EVERYONE needs to wrap their mind tightly around the fact that this bill has NOTHING to do with TikTok. That argument about TikTok being used as a way for the CCP to “spy on Americans” or “inject harmful content into our children” is nothing more than a TROJAN HORSE. The REAL reason for this bill, it’s in the fine print, is that this gives the Government free rein to BAN ANY APP OR WEBSITE IT WANTS. Also, the ability to use a VPN to protect your privacy. I would rather the CCP spy on me than my own Government say what I can, and cannot look at on the internet. 💯

This gets a Dell Latitude working with a Cell Phone SIM card in Linux Mint. If you buy a laptop with a SIM slot, you can't assume it has a WWAN Broadband card. Likewise, having a WWAN Broadband Card slot doesn't mean the laptop will have any antennas for the WWAN card, so you may have to buy and install some yourself. Here is a combination of cars/antennas that works. You might even be able to feed the wires through the hinge and up behind the screen. You do need the antennas up high. They won't work stuff in between the bottom cover and the battery. Also, having the primary (white) and auxiliary (black) swapped kills the signal for some reason. It supports downloading YouTube playlists as well, it'll go through each video in the playlist. Downloads can be very slow though, I recommend you use the —info flag before downloading to see what formats are available. Then you can run the command again with the —i-tag flag at whichever quality level is right for you. . You can log and track the phone locations of your family and friends in complete privacy, using your Nextcloud server. To do this you need to install the Nextcloud PhoneTrack App on your Nextcloud server, and the Android PhoneTrack App on every phone you want to track. The F-Droid version is old and buggy. To get the newer Dev Android version, you: 1. Go to the deve GitLAb page, scroll down and click the "APK Direct Download" link 2. At top "Pipeline" option, click the Download arrow and select "AssembleDevDebug:archive" 3. This downloads a zip file. Extract the zip and install the APK. CONNECT ALL PHONES AND TRACK 4. On Nextcloud create a dedicated account for PhoneTracking. 5. Create a PhoneTrack "Session" in the Nextcloud PhoneTrack account. 6.
