i think this is the problem with nichelords and ppl trying to be as unique as humanly possible and larp aphex twin or something before aphex twin fans were only computer guys that did acid a bunch so this music spoke to them on a personal level because it was made by the same guy as them and now it's just teens that try to be different, which is not bad, but it just feels less personal being niche is about being personal with your art and about being unique

honestly whenever i try to listen to music that is from the cultural cluster that i am more or less involved in it always puts so much more depth into the sounds that people do i understand the situation, i can relate to the emotions people try to convey through their art, i understand the history that made people end up in that situation i can feel it being real in a sense, even if i don't fully agree with a message they are trying to convey

i was looking at this guy's bandcamp and he's actually from donetsk and it made so much sense tbh i remember listening to him when i was an edgy 16 yo
